Hi all, not sure if this is common knowledge but Southeastern have started fitting cameras towards the platform ends that trigger an alarm if you stray near the end barriers. At present I only know that Deal has them as I inadvertently triggered them whilst photographing the semaphores. A very...
Hi all,
Hers some footage of the above named tour arriving and shunting at Canterbury West and on the return leg at Minster taking the single line towards Sandwich.
The weather was pretty awful for the Canterbury section of the video but enjoy nonetheless.
Hi all, Enjoy the class 50s on the “Kent Conundrum” railtour this Summer plus Clan Line and the Belmont British Pullman.
Take a look at this video.

I see the Hastings line has been in “trouble” all day today.
First this morning there was no service from Tonbridge to Robertsbridge due to no signalling staff. Presumably the Tonbridge PSB signaller wasn’t available as they control High Brooms to Frant. Then since lunchtime the Hastings to...
Does anyone know what is happening with the Castle class HSTs?
All their work bar 1trip to Exeter St David’s is between Plymouth and Penzance.
The rumours were they would finish this December but with nothing to replace them will they really finish (and GWR sweat their class 8XX/150) or do they...
Saw a SWR Class 159 running to Exeter St David’s TMD Monday this week about 11:45.
Is this a usual thing?
In quite a few days/hours spent at EXD I’ve never known SWR/SWT 159/158 to run to the Westerns depot.
Certainly not since SWT stopped running to Plymouth & Penzance.
It was being driven...
Afternoon all,
I'm doing some research into the Ashford-Minster section of the former SR and have a few queries.
There's plenty of historical material around about the line already out there but what I want to know is
what is the current situation regarding the signalling on the line.
Ashford...
Evening all,
I was just looking at the Bristol area diagram on Railcam.
There seem to be flashing red dots placed around the diagram.
As far as I’m aware they are only on the Bristol page.
Anyone know what they signify?
Rick
Problems for GWML tonight.
Seems like an empty IET has brought the wires down at Hanwell.
Quite a few trains stranded due to no power.
Some trains have been at a standstill for 2+ hours.
Can’t see Paddington reopening tonight.
About 200 yards off the country end of Ebbsfleet HS1 platforms there is a bridge like concrete structure that spans all of the tracks.
It looks like a bridge but isn’t connected to any roads.
Does anyone know what purpose it serves or are there plans for it to become a bridge in some future...

Hi all, I need to take a trip on the West Coast out of Euston tomorrow morning but I haven't had time to reserve a seat.
I understand that there are always a couple of unreserved carriages on the Pendolinos, could someone please tell me which ones they are on the 9 & 11 car sets.
Thanks
Rick
Had a trip along the new, sorry revamped Oxford Parkway line today.
There seem to be a few sidings on the down side of Bicester Village station that
are signalled with a main aspect and position 1JRI from the down platform.
Are these sidings for Chiltern stabling purposes or some other use?
Does anyone have any recommendations for good book on the Isle of Wight railway.
I am more interested In the period since electrification in the 1960s and the Standard tube stock that was operating at the time.
Thanks in anticipation.
Rick
Hi there,
Is anyone else experiencing problems renewing their subscription with Railmiles?
My sub expired and I cannot find any renew options on the website.
I used the contact option to try and get advice from them but their "support ticket" system seems to be permanently down.
Seems...
