I'm flying from Gatwick South tomorrow and was wondering if there was anywhere to be recommended in airside departures for a good airfield/runway view? Ideally in/near a good refreshment establishment...
On the hunt for recommendations for a UK rail journey planner app for android - it doesn't need to be able to sell tickets etc just provide itineraries including with via points.
Thanks!
I'm trying to buy a off-peak day return from London Terms to Luton Airport, and I get this warning:
"This ticket is only valid on services leaving London Thameslink"
What does this mean? Does it mean the six Thameslink stations?
The crux of my question is - given the ticket type, would...
Planning a trip on the Borders Railway next week, and was considering a stopover for an hour at Tweedbank to keep the other half happy.
Had a quick look on google/maps and it doesn't look like there's much at the end of the line - it looks like breaking the return at Galasheils would be a lot...
I can't find some tickets I bought for a forthcoming trip - I'm sure I've collected them already, it would have been unlike me not to. If I try to collect them from a machine and I have mislaid them, would I be able to have them reprinted by a ticket office?
Been waiting for advance tickets to show up for Paddington - Cardiff and back on Sat 19th Sep (for the rugby). The ticket horizon has been and gone, but no advances are available on the direct trains. Is it safe to assume as some point in the near future they will be?
I'm after the following Munich mileages please (in km if necessary)

S8: Hallbergmoos - Marienplatz
U2: Hauptbahnhof - Schieldplatz
U3: Schieldplatz - Olympiazentrum
U3: Olympiazentrum - Marienplatz
Also - the reported length of the Chiemseebahn...
I'm very excited to next week be taking a small adventure holiday in the Scottish Highlands, not only to take some time out but also of course to add some challenging coverage to the map, and give the mileage a boost!
Here's the plan:
Day 1
Highland Chieftain: 12.00 Kings Cross -...
Thanks to Northern's recent day ranger promo, I thought I would take the opportunity to blitz some of the red on my coverage map. As you can see, there's quite a lot in the Manchester and Merseyside areas as well as less so in North Yorkshire.
My task for you guys is, starting from...
Reported by RTT as cancelled, but it is definitely running. Even though it's running it isn't reporting on RTT.
Interested to know why it's reported as cancelled when running. Technical issue? Or a reversed decision maybe? Surprised also it isn't reporting times on RTT.
In the summer myself and the better half intend on using the 08.55 Inverness - Kyle service with a 2TR Highland Rover. Unless I'm much mistaken the restrictions on the railcard override those on the rover i.e. the discounted rover can't be used before 09.30.
In terms of splitting the rover...
I'm looking at combining a trip for a rugby world cup with a small bash to cover the south Wales and HoW lines.
Starting in Cardiff, my intention was to get a South Wales Flexi and do in effect a clockwise route to Fishguard/Milford/Pembroke, up to Shrewsbury then back to Cardiff, and at some...
Over the past few years I have enjoyed using buying all my (and others) rail tickets using eastcoast.co.uk, not only because of their loyalty scheme but also I really enjoy the functionality of webtis. I'm sure there's many others who would agree with me - so who will you move your business to...
Any suggestions welcome please. I'd like to stipulate the following criteria:
1. Android OS
2. Between 4-5" size screen (no bigger)
3. Headphone socket on the bottom
Thanks!

Appears to be a Freightliner terminal with daily timetabled services to Oxwellmains but I've never seen or heard of it before, or even if it is still in use.
