Paddington - Cardiff Saturday 19th Sep

Been waiting for advance tickets to show up for Paddington - Cardiff and back on Sat 19th Sep (for the rugby). The ticket horizon has been and gone, but no advances are available on the direct trains. Is it safe to assume as some point in the near future they will be?

I would suggest it'd be highly unlikely that Advance tickets will be available that day for precisely the reason you've mentioned.

FGW know they can fill trains by selling tickets at walk-up rates, so they're not going to dilute that revenue by making cheaper tickets available.

Get an advance to/from Bristol TM and then a CDR Bristol-Cardiff?
Or via Hereford?

There was a hold up the previous week with getting the booking horizon up to Wed 23rd Sept/Sat 19th/Sun 20th but it seems the 19th still didn't open as planned. (Yield management system number 3 going wrong !!!)

With the strike I'd reckon the minions were ordered to do other more customer focused duties Thursday and Friday of last week........ :roll:

Things will probably happen tomorrow.

I've come to the conclusion, looking at other flows that FGW have decided as CyrusWuff says to not sell advance tickets on the services that day.
