I came across an unfamilair symbol when looking for tickets from Bangor(BNG) to Cardiff Central(CDF). It is at the bottom of the 13:00 departure. It shows up on the tfw.wales website but not on the app or the printed timetable.
What does it mean?

Applogies if this is a duplicate -- I did a search on Vivarail and didn't find the news.
"UK: Great Western Railway has agreed contracts to buy Vivarail’s battery train related assets, saying this will secure the future of planned trials of the technology in London.
The deal announced on...
Llanfairpwll has a new, much improved shelter on the down side. The platform otherwise has little protection from the gales coming in off the Irish Sea. Small improvements can make a big difference.
Transport for Wales(TfW) are asking users of Bangor and Holyhead stations for views on possible improvements to both stations. I gave my feed back for Bangor in person, but there is also an on-line survey. The projects are at an early stage.
I plan to travel to Holyhead before giving...
My train home today was something I've never come across on the North Wales Mainline
158828 + 153320 + 153926. (1D33 0830 MIA to HHD)
I've seen the occasional 150 Sprinter coupled to a 158. I can't recall ever seeing a 153 at Bangor before today.
Did I happen across something...
University and Colleges Union (UCU) are planning a national demonstration at Kings Cross on 30 November 1PM. I suggest planning around this if you are traveling on the day.
I'll be there unless Avanti West Coast cancel the train.
The dispute is over pay, working conditions, casualisation...
Spotted at Llanfairpwll around 10:00 AM today. My best guess is a water pressure wash to remove leaves? A plain water pressure wash would knock back the weeds too. ????? Traction was 56049 and 56094.
The Menai Bridge is close to all traffic until at least January 2023. I wouldn't be surprised if it is closed for a year or more.
In the meantime it is a nighmare getting between Anglesey and the mainland.
I'm going to attempt commuting by train. However the stopping service isn't very good...
Avanti are presently running 1 direct train between HHD and EUS on Saturdays. This coming week there are zero direct weekday trains. Weekday travel between North Wales and London often involves changing at both Crewe and Chester. As often as not, travel in the North Wales portion is with...
mods note - split from here.
Nearly all hydrogen comes from steam reformed natural gas. This is sometimes called blue hydrogen.
Natural gas prices at £5.43/thm and rising should be the end of hydrogen powered anything. Steam reforming is about 70% effiecent. Compressing the H2 is...
Abergavenny - Hereford: Line currently closed. Working towards reopening on Saturday morning (weather dependent)
Network rail posted a video today. The video shows three sites where the ballast washed out.

Apologies if this is posted elsewhere.
TfW are cutting the only evening eastbound rush hour direct service between Bangor and Colwyn Bay, Rhyl, Prestatyn and Flint.
The 17:16 service from Bangor is now a 17:18 express stopping at Llandudno Junction and Chester, Shrewsbury and Cardiff only...
Last month I bought two £4.95 advance single tickets on HX using our two-together rail card. We need to be at LHR stupid early, departing Paddington well before 09:30.
The HX website doesn't ask about time of departure, just date. The booking says no time restrictions on travel. At the...
I may attempt EUS to BNG on an announced strike day. I would be traveling on an off-peak ticket.
(Valid any off peak train, Not restricted to VTWC)
Anyone have suggestions or inside information on the best route?
Looking at the time tables, the journey planner, and the VT website, it looks...
My local station, the one with the long name and short platforms, is getting a new or refurbished footbridge.
I finally thought to take some photos this morning on my way into Bangor.
Temporary Footbridge from the carpark to platform 2:
While planning a future trip I noticed for that most Sundays in February and March Network Rail are carrying out engineering work between Llandudno Junction and Chester all day Sunday, closing the line. There is also a weekend closure 25-26 March.
I was wondering where I could find...
