Hi
I hope this is the right place to ask, if not, I apologise. And if it's been asked before, then again, I apologise.
It's mainly aimed at those who worked at Doncaster.
When they had to cut up locos, especially the Deltics, was it a case of it's just another loco going for scrap, or was there...
Hi all
I'm off to Reading tomorrow as my class 43 page is looking very bleak.
I'm travelling from Banbury by train.
Are there any places on the way to look out for where loco's might be stabled.
Thanks for your time
I'm in the Crewe area tomorrow. I'm thinking of having a drive to the depots can you see any of the stuff in the depots from the road. Is there much in there at weekends.
All replies would be much appreciated
thanks
Anyone know what the Class 73 and Class 92 along with 92028 were standing outside the works today about 3-30pm. I didn't have my binoculars as I drove past
Thanks
I'm think of doing a trip to Colton Junc.
Has anyone else done it by car?. Is it easy to get too?. Do you have to leave your car and walk or can you sit and see everything from the warmth of your car?
Many thanks

Oops I've put this in the wrong...
As I'm now getting back into my rail watching I thought I'd share what I saw on my day at Nuneaton today.
A long with the pendolino's and 170 and 350 units the loco's were
32 x class 66
1 x class 68
3 x class 70
8 x class 86/6
6 x class 90
1 x class 92
not a bad day out
I'm thinking of doing a visit to some of the London terminus stations. As the vast majority now have ticket barriers does anyone know if they allow you to watch trains on the platforms or do you now have to buy a ticket to the nearest station etc.
thanks
Off on a trip up north at the weekend. Does Crewe still have locos stabled that you can see from the platforms. I won't be able to stop there long so a quick jot down of numbers and away. If there aren't any stabled I won't bother calling in
Thanks
Just as a bit of a topic how much if money was no object would you pay for a locomotive.
I was reading earlier of locomotives put up for sale and I just wondered what kind of price they fetch. I know condition etc comes into it as with anything but I'm just curious.
Before anyone says it I'm...
Hi everyone
I'm new to this forum so go easy on me.
After MANY years I've got back into the habit of train spotting/watching again.
I used to go everywhere as a kid but work and raising a family put paid to it for a few years.
Where are the best places to go to see a good amount or...
