I have this picture from my father's collection. It shows a train with LNER A1 (Knight of the Thistle I think) with a Flying Scotsman headboard and a platform on the off side. Two questions:
Where is it? Leuchars has an island platform but the wooded hills in the background don't look...
These three pictures of Southern Railway locomotives show 30772 (BR number) with British Railways on the tender, and 423 and 791 (Southern numbers) with Southern on the tenders.
The pictures were printed in the same batch, so probably taken at the same time. The photographer had in-laws in...
I recently booked Aberdeen-Edinburgh with LNER. Since then I have had a number of emails about my forthcoming 'trip to Princes St Gardens', which seems a bit strange. Do they do this for other destinations?

Looking at the NR site, the only services shown for SUY to SHR are those using the through VT services from Euston, so a maximum of three connections including crossing London.
Both Great Eastern and ATW also list services with an extra change at Wolverhampton. Are there two different...

I select a thread e.g. Police near Cottingley ...
The thread appears, but the loading symbol continues for a few seconds
When I right-click the go back arrow, the thread appears three times in the list of...

Scene: Blackpool North
I was standing on the platform in the fresh air, next to a train leaving in 10 minutes.
Northern staff member: are you all right; where are you travelling to.
Me: Preston
Him: It's that train.
Me: Yes I know.
Him: You'll need to board. There's not to be...
