Noticed these yellow painted footways round a siding at Truro and wondered what was the significance of these.

Photographed this train at Mortimer recently and when processing it notices an object laying on the ballast, perhaps having fallen off a train. My eyes were then drawn to what appears to be serrations on the bottom of the rails and wondered what the purpose of these was.

In 1880 Beyer Peacock sold three of the Metro B class 4-4-0T locomotives to the SER, possibly for use on the line from New Cross to Shoreditch, or perhaps the line through Ludgate to the west or north. In 1883 the locomotives were sold to the Metropolitan Railway where they became numbers 57-59...

Many years ago I saw some AC electric locos from the WCML running through Reading behind class 47s with the electric loco DiT. These were diversions via Banbury, and Didcot to Paddington due to a disruption on the WCML out of Euston. I manage to get the odd photographs but have not located them...

Last week I saw the EuroDual mock-up at Albuxech. The front-end is similar in shape to the class 91 but it is said the bodywork will be similar to the Euro 3000/4000 series. The class 88 is said to have the same body as the class 68, but I wonder if it will have a similar front (& rear) end as...

Does anyone know the works numbers for this relatively new class? There is a gap in the Vossloh works list from 2293 to 2500 which they could all fit into and I know 460009 is 2309 so they may run in sequence from 2301. The plate numbers are too small to be read on the vast majority of internet...
