As the title suggests does anyone use NFC emulation on their mobile phone for their Osyter cards, bank cards, building swipe passes or anything like that?
I've got mine set up and linked with my Oyster card and our buildings alarm fob. I've also got a few site tags on it for getting through...
I am really curious, I pay for my season and work then reimburse me. The train I catch is before the ticket office at my local is open and the TVM won't sell the season I need (something to do with an update in the fares).
So I often pay on the train, I bank with TSB so my card is ALWAYS...
Railway or otherwise, share your ghostly encounters.
I've had some experiences that could be called paranormal. The first was with my current girlfriend. It was the first time she had been to my house and she observed a gentleman stood at the top of my stairs while I was having a smoke outside...
What's peoples views of cyclists/bicycles on the train? I see a lot of anti cyclist sentiment from railway staff around my way but public opinion is very mixed.
So...
What do people think can be done to improve things?
Should cyclists be charged a separate fare?
Should there be...
About two weeks ago I got into a little situation with a and wanted an answer. I went from Swindon to Trowbridge for work on an anytime day return costing £12.00 with my railcard. On the way out it was ok, but On the way back I got ticket checked and informed I had the wrong ticket/railcard...
I came across this amazing insight into a line I never knew existed! Take a look :)

It seems a shame to think we may lose this line in the near future :(

Just a quick question, I've noticed lately that a particular guard always seems to have the rear corridor connection door on his unit open while the trains in motion. How legal is this? From personal opinion I see no issue, it's not a public area anyway. But what's the real truth? I was under...
Just seen on BBBRs facebook site that the twonks have been sticking their stickers on a Pendelino. How and why are they allowed to do that? Surely not too smart a move considering Virgin might be able to take them to court? I recall a thread about stickers on the LUL. I would try a link to the...
Why is the town side platform (2) made up of a platform which extends under the road bridge when it's not used? It's got the usual stop signs and the do not cross the line board under the bridge buy the platform extends beyond this about 50ft. Would you be allowed to photo off this point of the...
A friend of mine recently purchased an off peak return to Bath Spa from Swindon for only 4 quid, how is that possible?
I've seen the ticket, all seems legit and the code is JB...any thoughts?
Quick question about breaking the journey on an open return valid for one month.
If the return ticket is valid from Westbury to Swindon within one month would I be permitted to break at Bath Spa and stay overnight in Bath then carry on to Swindon the next day?
The ticket I get is an off...
Seems to be, I'm not the only one to notice, that if you dare to say even a slightly bad word to or criticise their service on Facebook and Twitter they either delete or ignore it.
Seems they don't want there reputation tarnished....disgusting to do this though.
Just curious has anyone got one of them? How do you find it?
I was offered one by 3 but turned it down for many many reasons, mainly the specs don't hold up to other handsets on the market.
I've got problems sleeping at night, my body tends to be more into sleeping from around 6am till lunch which is obviously not good for my work on day shifts. So I've got hold of Palms sleep pills and taken some tonight to see what happens,
Anyone had and good or bad experiences with sleeping...
So I've got quite interested in the amazing APT-P and was wondering what the reasons for rejecting it were? I think I heard it was brakes or something a while back, buy any other reasons?
The HST fleet has done pretty damn well out of its failure though it must be said, it just seems we...
Personally speaking I love her music and her personality, she's such a unique person in the often awful musical personality pool these days. Plus she's worth 26 mil!!
What do you all think of her?
Opinions often seem so different on her, some love her, some hate her with a passion....
I've been studying this for a few weeks now so before anyone says different it is TRUE.
The station departures and arrivals boards often show the train as being on time, yet use the Blackberry or Android app and they say completely different. As does National Rail Enquiries.
So here's a...
I'm a little confused to say the least about tickets around London such as oyster cards ans zone boundaries, number etc.
Does anyone have a link to a site about it all or know it?
Having seen the talk about the mk4 stock I'm curious as to what people would say their best and favourite vehicle is ride wise.
Mine would have to be Mk1 BSK no.W34540 on the Swindon and Cricklade. No matter how bad the track work was it rode beautifully! Until the little '
Accident' it was...
