    Manchester Metrolink master thread

Anyone know how much a Metrolink Day Rover (starting after 09:30) costs? The Metrolink website appears to be unusable from my phone... Thanks.

    Red Pen 2013

Ah yes, 43047... About 10 years ago, this was the only one of the 199 I'd never seen. It came to pass that the Heritage Shunters Trust and peakrail were having a gala. I went on the Sunday, and to combine gronk-scooping with track-bashing did a Derbyshire Ranger (the Buxton and Matlock...

Go East Young Man - a bash from March 2008.

March 2008, the days are getting longer, Spring is in the air. Time for a bash then! Looking through the interweb, there is a Diesel Gala at the MNR, a railtour (The Choppington Changer) doing some nice freighty bits of track, and cheapish Travelodges availble at Ely and Norwich. So the...

    Best Real Ale Trains (UK)?

The Gwili railway has (or had in 2010, so hopefully its still about) a most impressive bar car, complete with bar stools and the general ambience of a pleasant pub. Just the trick for trundling up and down behind various shunters. As far as the beer goes, it was dark and bottled, and...

    mcdonalds milkshakes- varible quality

I find McDonalds (and Burger King for that matter) to be perfectly acceptable - particularly the sausage & egg McMuffins. I presume the reason that these aren't sold all day is that they are less profitable than burgers? The truly vile fast food, imho, is KFC!

Yes, its Three Bridges. (Contract Bridge, a card game; Wayne Bridge, a footballer; Darlington Bridge, a type of electric circuit which was somewhat less interesting than a Van Der Graaf Generator in my recollection of school physics lessons)

    Football

Rochdale formally confirm their Football League status with a 4-2 win, while Sarfend supporters must rue the replacement of a reasonably competent manager by a (self-)overrated extra from a Tango advert... Can someone with access to a fixture list please reassure me that if Dale beat Port...
