How would you remodel Ely North Junction and surrounding lines?

It was all historical. The GE eventually became the prime route to Norwich. 1747600007 Thank you. Exactly how the splitting distants set the routes up.

    CrossCountry's Driver Shortage

You only have to look at XC‘s X account. They often belittle those who complain or want a moan or simply reply with a casual ‘Yep’. 1747594102 I simply can’t see how anything can change.

How would you remodel Ely North Junction and surrounding lines?

The direct (priority) route was towards Norwich. This changed to Peterborough in 1992. Didn’t sign it then so couldn’t comment on each line speed.

Greater Anglia Bombardier Aventras (Class 720): Technical discussion and introduction

571 was involved in a collision with a car at Bentley AHB last Sunday. The damage to the train however was only minor.

New DfT rail usage figures, big increase

I wouldn’t rely on the road network in the same respect. Just give yourself plenty of time whatever transport you use to get there.

New DfT rail usage figures, big increase

I keep a very close eye on several station car parks but particularly Manningtree and Cambridge North. Now the former was extended controversially before the pandemic and has never reached its potential until the last six months or so proving that even more cars park at this station...

Will job transfers be easier after nationalisation?

That will be a decision decided between ASLEF and GBR. I don’t think anyone knows just yet how it will pan out whether it be on a national or regional level.

What triggers the signals to change to danger (red)

It’s just before. Many platform signals stay as a proceed aspect until the entire train has passed. This is due to rules where the guard dispatches the train and should not see a red.

    Normally track circuits.

Great Northern Fleet - 379s introduction

I could only presume so. They sat on the through road waiting access to platform 1 after I’d been for a wander and a coffee to pass the time.

Great Northern Fleet - 379s introduction

Wondered what they where doing in the through road whilst I was waiting to take over the 16:16 Norwich.

"1000 extra seats" on transpennine through sheffield on Saturdays

Modern Railways (May issue) has already mentioned this in the usual twice yearly round up of the national timetable changes.

    Greater Anglia nationalisation updates

Norwich to Birmingham was dropped by Regional Railways before privatisation. It was all down to traincrew route learning costs when Norwich drivers extended their route knowledge beyond Peterborough. It was decided to concentrate that depot on Nottingham via both routes rather than...

    Greater Anglia nationalisation updates

I’m in that group. They were very infrequent though and some laboriously slow as parcels vehicles sometimes got attached/detached en-route and frequently an engine change at March. From the 1970s when upgraded to loco-hauled, the BR catering for some reason was withdrawn, not being reintroduced...
