Premier Inn Leeds City Centre (Wellington Road) My wife and I have just returned today from a one night stay here and everything was fine When in Leeds we usually stay at the Whitehall Road P.I. which I have reviewed here previously, but at the time of booking, the Wellington Road PI was...

thank you .. my wife and I are heading to Liverpool tomorrow for a few days and we've seen all the famous sites in and around the city.

Which Merseyrail stop would you recommend to see as many as possible of the AG sculptures please ? Blundellsands & Crosby, or Hall Road ?

thank you So I guess there must be another ticket office.

As per the title A few years ago, after hearing about the ticket on this forum, my wife and I bought paper copies of the ticket, rather than having to pay an extra £1 for a card type ticket Are these still available please ?

Thanks for that .. I wasn't actually 100% sure. I don't think I have seen any other similar ones to these on any Metro station

Which station on the Tyne & Wear Metro system seems the most run-down. My vote goes to Northumberland Park, which is actually one of the newest stations on the network. Look at a few pictures I took today AND .. I think the multi-story car park is still not fully operational again

Thank you I think my wife would prefer a direct train, so we'll pick this option

My wife and I will be travelling from Norwich to Cambridge in a couple of months and I am wondering which route would be best (best = getting a seat for two seniors) Travel day : Tuesday Travel time : late morning Options seem to be (NRW) 10:52 > 11:42 (ELY) 11:51 > 12:11 (CBG) : EMR (2nd)...

It's amazing how prices can vary. My wife and I have stayed at the 'hub' Premier Inn at Goodge Street 3 times (2022 - 2024) and checking on the prices we paid, it was an average of £110-£120 per night which wasn't bad for London. For a similar stay in September this year, the bigger style...

How about Northumberland Park Not as many Metro trains, when compared to the South Gosforth - Pelaw section, but there's the added bonus of seeing some Northern Rail trains on the recently opened Newcastle to Ashington line. You could even take the train there from Newcastle mainline station (NCL)

My wife and I intend booking a trip shortly, from Cambridge to York so I have been looking at options on the Forum's ticket site. One option, via Stevenage, would work out at £39.10 which isn't too bad at all. Another option is also via Stevenage, but then a train up to Newcastle before...

Thank you for the replies .. I think we'll stick with Premier Inn. Yes, there's a website which I learnt about from this forum where you can store bags, often at hotels. For a medium bag, this works out at £6.49 per bag for any length of time (up to a day) and £5.49 for a backpack. So, for a...

Early Arrival / Late Departure Bag Storage I am just wondering whether any folk here have had good or bad experiences with bag storage if arriving at the hotel early and storage if leaving late (after the official check out time) My wife and I have been to several Premier Inns, all over the UK...

OP here I've just managed to book, LNER from Newcastle to Edinburgh via Carlisle with LNER on Sunday 27th Sept. As my wife and I are actually travelling to Glasgow, we could have changed trains at Carlisle and taken TPE but my wife preferred the LNER option all the way to Edinburgh. We like...

I read on this thread several weeks ago about prices being shown, but then if you look again soon afterwards using the same web browser the prices have increased ... as if to make you think 'rooms are going fast, so better book now' The writer mentioned that if you use a different web browser...

Butlins .. off peak A friend from overseas has just had a short 4-night break in Butlins with his young family. He was staying at Bognor Regis and paid about £140, although of course the same accommodation, in peak season could be as high as £600. Even better, in September it could be as low...

My wife and I often go away for Sunday to Wednesday breaks but finding now Tuesday seems very expensive. Sometimes the Tuesday night alone is dearer than the Sunday plus the Monday

I thought about that .. but it's a fair walk, even from the train station and I'm not too sure my wife would appreciate the walk, just for the sight of a few chaps in the water. Maybe I'll go on my own, while she goes to the shops

The first time we visited Liverpool, we actually did this exact same thing .. ferry over the river, bus to Hamilton Square, then back to Liverpool by train. We had Saveaway tickets and used them for the remainder of the day. I had actually posted a question on this forum at the time and was...
