Four Children Killed Level Crossing Netherlands

I would assume so. And if all criteria are met and there is no reason to assume that the vehicle itself may be at fault, then there is no reason to issue a total recall. What happened in Oss is a tragedy, and a thorough investigation to learn and to prevent reoccurrence is necessary. But at...

Four Children Killed Level Crossing Netherlands

I agree with you that a full investigation has to take place. However, imposing an outright ban after 1 accident without knowing what caused it, feels premature to me. Not only have the actions of the Dutch state caused a company to go bankrupt (before any blame was established) they've also...

Porterbrook Cl.769 'Flex' trains from 319s, initially for Northern

Almost universal. It won't get very far under the Tyne & Wear Metro's 1500 V DC OLE. ;)

    Dusseldorf Airport to Paderborn

The DB Navigator app on my phone gave me the € 30,50 NRW ticket. If Bahn.de doesn't show it, that's weird.

Four Children Killed Level Crossing Netherlands

I'm assuming it's a mistranslation or misunderstood. The founder of Stintum was as devastated as everyone else. The Stintum company refused to issue a recall as the reason for the accident was (and still is) very much unclear, they felt like the government were looking for a scapegoat and did...

    Dusseldorf Airport to Paderborn

I've just had a look in the Deutsche Bahn app, planning a journey next week, and I get prices ranging from € 19,90 (ICE+Eurobahn) to € 30,50 (NRW Tariff). If you're booking for March you're likely to be too early as the booking window hasn't opened yet.

Four Children Killed Level Crossing Netherlands

Stintum, the manufacturer of the Stint vehicle, has filed for bankruptcy. According to their MD it's simply no longer possible to keep the business running.

Doesn't the GWR livery have a tiny "A FirstGroup Company" somewhere on each vehicle?

Disruption between Paddington and Slough 28th Oct 2018

It looks like things are on the move again, two trains which have been standing at Ealing Broadway for quite some time are now moving towards London.

Disruption between Paddington and Slough 28th Oct 2018

Given that it was only a few days ago when it took 3 hours to evacuate a train which was very close to Victoria, I can understand that passengers aren't feeling very confident in the rail industry's ability to look after them when things go wrong (not saying that I approve of that).

    New Phone

One of the things which holds me back from buying OnePlus again is the lack of wireless charging (Qi). Now that Samsung have adopted wireless charging and even Apple have it in their latest iPhones, there's no reason why OnePlus phones shouldn't have it. My first phone to feature Qi was the...

    Class 345 progress

There are no 12 car 345s, they only exist as 7 coach fixed formations and 9 coach fixed formations. The 7 coach ones will be lengthened to 9 coaches after infrastructure upgrades on the Anglian side are completed.

    New Phone

My previous phone for daily use was a OnePlus 3T and I am really pleased with that. It packs a punch for a reasonable price. Nowadays I use a Samsung Galaxy S8 (issued by my employer), and while I was skeptical about it at first I've grown to really like the device. There's little bloatware on...

Thugs smash piano gifted to new Dundee station in memory of wife

That is exactly what has been done. :) The man who flipped the piano had been taken into custody, he's since been released and is due to appear in front of a judge at a later date.
