    Older cars you have seen

My Uncle had one, I had not seen him for years and rocked up to a funeral in one. So my brother & I greeted him outside and it was all car talk, nothing about his deceased!

Things in living memory which seem very anachronistic now

Carrying on with scales: Scales in the men's pub toilets. Always baffled me this one.

    Bee Network Service/Route Discussion

I thought it might be down to education, @mangad mentioned they could be going over the bee network boundary, but I see a lot of people asking for a day saver before presenting the card. Kids with cards, I see a lot of this as I travel outbound at school time, you'd think they have learned by...

    Photo copyright infringement legal action

That was their main worry, they have taken down the website as they dont want this happening again. They have mentioned this, so why £900 or whatever? (I do not know the exact amount) anyway they are going to keep me in the loop.

AI-generated (not entirely realistic) railway images

OT: Didn't they have plastic wallets for when bashing in the rain? I'm sure I had a few.

    Bee Network Service/Route Discussion

Something I have noticed this week - remember I not completely familiar with the Bee bus/tram network. I see people with debit/credit cards asking for a day saver (£5) before presenting the card, so the driver taps the ticket machine and the passenger receives a ticket. But the contactless cap...

Northern claiming "do not travel" exempts them from consequential loss claim

I know someone who did a similar claim for a taxi, the TOC reply was sort of 'Why didn't you get a bus? we would have paid for that'

and a different colour if you were bowled by it. On a serious note on this CD monster being everywhere at the same time, in the 80's my mate was convinced there was more than one - reason being one had a plated headcode panel and on the other end a black domino, so when looking back at his...

    Photo copyright infringement legal action

Talking to a friend the other day and I thought I would pass this through the forums as there are lots of photographers on here. They have sort advice, just wondering what the forums think too. What happened, will be brief as possible: They have received an email wanting approx £900 for a...

    Films that feature the railways

I've seen the film on UK television, decades ago. It's on Youtube, but in German. It was called (translated) to literally "The gentlemen ask you to pay" I wouldnt mind watching it again in English just for the BR scenes, I do know a bit of German but I'm very rusty.

I dont understand - why? Did you have no cards or something? I suppose you could pay via paypoint (or whatever its called) if you only had cash.

Stations with poor facilities of an evening

It was, next to Greggs. Right up to it it closed (2009ish?) it had a serving hatch for the dead of night, I think the main doors were closed from midnight to 5am to keep undesirables out, plus they have to clean the floors etc..

Stations with poor facilities of an evening

I think you are talking about the Café which was 30 seconds away from the main entrance, it lasted from the early 80s to about 1996. A haunt of cranks and railwaymen alike in the early hours. The name escapes me.
