Will people go back to normal after a vaccine?

But only under the emergency protocol. Once full approval comes through (timescale unknown) it'll be for all batches.

Our total reliance on a vaccine and putting life on hold until it's rolled out

This slipped under my radar yesterday but I still feel I need to respond in the name of stamping on misinformation. The nurses did not have "anaphylactic shock". They had an anaphylactoid reaction. Just because the words sound similar doesn't mean that they are the same thing. Remember that...

A record year for stock scrapping?

Blimey indeed. Who has enough time on their hands to tally up vehicles done this year? :E

Suggestions for future use of Class 332s post-HEx

As well as this, the fact that they are modern and electric precludes them going any preserved railway (who would pay good money to take the kids to ride on that at 25mph). The fact that they are modern and have slidy doors and aircon rules out use as holiday accommodation/garden...

Classes that came and went without you ever travelling on one?

Awww. It had the experimental plug door modification and everything :D

Classes that came and went without you ever travelling on one?

For me, class 460, class 142, class 144. Does it count if I travelled in the class 455 carriage that used to be in a 210?

East Midlands Railway livery and station branding

The base colour of GA is white, so easy to apply vinyl decals to. Granted they could revinyl the whole unit for the EMT ones, but would they go to the expense or just wait until repaint is due?

Potential replacement of Southern Class 313s and 455s?

In the medium term I reckon the re tractioned SWR 455s could replace Southern's 455s, and shortened 455/7s with the ex 508 TSO removed could replace the 313s.

East Midlands Railway livery and station branding

And for the first time since they were built, none of the 180s will be carrying a First Group livery.

    Guildford platform 7

Platform 7 at Guildford has just a single track between it and platform 6. These days it's not used as doors are only released on the platform 6 side. However in the days of the slammers I presume it was possible to exit from both sides of the train. How was dispatch safely done from both...

    Trains making unadvertised/off-station stops

In the slammer days, if a train was held at a red signal at Vauxhall Londonbound, there would be an exodus on to the platform. The easy connection to the Victoria Line was too tempting. It really annoyed the guards, as they had to do a full dispatch routine before the train could set off again...

A record year for stock scrapping?

I wonder how many went in the same year?

A record year for stock scrapping?

Ah yes. I meant to put 314s rather than 313s, as I think the 313s went last year.

A record year for stock scrapping?

There has been a lot of stock scrapped this year. I can think of the following classes that have lost units to the scrappers torch. Class 142s Mk 3 LHCS Mk 3 HST carriages Mk 4 carriages Class 313s Class 315s Class 317s Class 442s Class 508s Class 332s Correction edit: (thanks @fgwrich) 313s...

    Vaccine Progress, Approval, and Deployment

The Oxford vaccine is safe and effective, according to the Lancet. So that's the peer review done and dusted. The MHRA will have the same data. Interestingly it also says it reduces the spread. The Pfizer one may also do that, but it's not been confirmed. BBC report here...

    Class 317 withdrawals.

As long as there's more modern EMUs homeless (365s now, 379s, 350/2s in a year or so) the mark 3 based stock will be heading for the scrap man.

    Class 707 to Southeastern Dates

The 350/2s aren't available until the 730s arrive. Surely by then the 701s will be in service with SWR.

    Class 707 to Southeastern Dates

Once the 442s are cleared for re entry to traffic, SWR could I suppose cascade internally to free up some 707s.

Suggestions for future use of Class 332s post-HEx

If nothing else I bet those windscreens don't come cheap.
