    Trainline selling misleading tickets

Which was my point before. If that’s the case, and I regularly buy advances as soon as they’re released because that’s generally when they’re cheapest, then each railcard I own will only have 9-10 months use before I have to renew it because I want to buy an advance for 2-3 months time

    Trainline selling misleading tickets

Depends on the validation used doesn’t it? “Has a valid railcard at point of purchase” vs “has a railcard at point of purchase that will be valid at time of travel” Now you’re talking :D :D

    Trainline selling misleading tickets

"The railway" is in this case going to be marking its own homework, so yes, I suspect you're right (Not sure about the 3 months in 12 years argument though. If the validation is "you don't have a railcard that will be valid on the date of travel - buy one before you can buy your ticket" its...

And also they're edge cases that are most relevant with advance tickets, something the railway invented relatively recently (and a long time after the invention of railcards) and continues to market quite aggressively

How will this work for me buying an advance 3 months prior to travel, with a railcard that expires in 2 months time?

The cricket correspondent is Stephen Schemelt (sp?) now after Agnew stood back. Is there a named county correspondent? I thought they had a sort of main person per county?

Dunoon or Rothesay .. which one should we visit

Ah yes, we found that out too When we were in Rothesay we went to Bute Yard and they had (I think) the full range of Bute beers, plus some alright snack type food. Bit of a strange place during the day - like a barn - but apparently good at night when they have music on

We went to a chip shop in Dunoon when we were there a couple of years ago. Not sure if it was the chip shop but I remember thinking I'd had a lot better elsewhere
