Was Train Driving always hard to get into ?

One particular spotter/enthusiast I worked with for a few months ended up not paying attention to all the rules they had been taught and threw the job of a lifetime away, because they couldn't help but go back to spotter, rather than railway professional. Not concentrating on the right things at...

Most sign 08 as there is a turn or two that uses the 08 at Trafford. Also, wembley runs are also signed by a few via Birm Int, on top of via Trent. Handfull of top link sign all sorts of other bits and bobs, chat moss, Lawley Street, via Stoke etc etc

    Change of career to freight

Lots of waiting and sleeping, then a big fat wedge of GO and u have to be on it. Lots of nights, but that doesn't bother me. Looking to do around 100 this year, but I still have plenty of time off, hols and family time. If I wanted to push it, I could earn more. I love it.

Heinz Factory near Wigan to get its own siding?

A siding will be, for the sake of argument, a million quid. At 5 members of staff for a week (driver, shunter, picop, signaller, other ground staff) 5 nights a week, all on a grand a week, will cost 4 years to start making a comparable profit against a siding... most companies want payback...
