Trips by Bus and Coach: Your reports

Very nice and very different, thanks for sharing. Would love to visit both Guernsey and Jersey, I have been to both for one day each on business decades ago and also stopped off at both once (without getting off) on a cross channel crossing from Weymouth to St Malo. Looks well worth exploring...

    Arriva Buses (including Greenline)

Hi TGW Fair point that we shouldn't kick a firm just because others are, even though they don't do themselves any favours. I hadn't looked at the Flintshire website but really would expect to find mention on Arriva's own website. It hasn't filtered through to Bustimes - suggesting maybe it...

    Arriva Buses (including Greenline)

There seems to be no end to the awfulness of Arriva.... Looking at the 11 in North Wales on bustimes I could see that the route was only operating hourly, through to Rhyl as an 11M but at the times the 11C should run. So I went to Arriva's website, Wales section, no mention whatsoever of any...

Oxford rationalisation - but keeping single company tickets!

I don't think this is correct as regards the 2s. At the moment each operator runs 6 buses, with a round trip time of 80 minutes. This provides a combined frequency of every 6-7 minutes (9 bph). Off peak the combined frequency is going to be every 10 minutes, so that's 8 buses. Peaks it says it...

Trips by Bus and Coach: Your reports

It was certainly cold in Aldbourne but I could stay warm in my car until nearly the time for the bus! It is a great hinterland around this area as it is not on the way to anywhere and they are attractive villages. There was a time when Thamesdown ran Dominators on the Marlborough route at least...

Trips by Bus and Coach: Your reports

The weather was set fair yesterday and I was able to take a day trip although I had to be home in good time for my booster jab, so I was a bit restricted in where I could go. Following the recent discussion on this thread I settled on doing a Wiltshire trip. The one I had planned started and...

Trips by Bus and Coach: Your reports

I strongly agree with The Grand Wazoo on the merits of Wiltshire, there are some very scenic parts and some are more accessible by bus than in certain other counties. The 51 is quite decent around South Cerney, also Cricklade is good, but the better part is north of Cirencester. The 80 is good...

    Hulley's of Baslow (Defunct)

Is it too much to hope that, having established there is some market, Derbyshire funds a handful of journeys during the summer months, perhaps just between Sheffield and Glossop, connecting with trains at Glossop? Maybe round trips leaving Sheffield around 9.15, 11.15, 13.15 and 16.00, thus...

    Transdev Blazefield

Six Mellor Stratas, 84-89, appear to be out on the road today. Maybe they were yesterday but with BusTimes down I can't tell. They seem to be on routes 530/577 (2) and 546/561/562 (4) although there is some crossover with other routes. And from a quick glance the reliability seems a bit better...

    Stagecoach Group (Group-wide matters)

The Lancashire Bus Users Group blog spot reports significant cuts ahead east of Lancaster and the closure of the Ingleton outstation. Not good! https://lancsbus.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2021-10-31T20:58:00Z&max-results=2 Lancashire and North Yorkshire County Councils have been holding...

Trips by Bus and Coach: Your reports

I agree on the clock face (or not) timetables. There are the 329 and 360 which are every 40 minutes (linked), also the 61 (Halton) is every 40 minutes. There are also some weird ones like the 52 and 52A being every 24 minutes each, but the 300 is the worst I've seen - although maybe some are...

    Ticketer Live Tracking Down?

    Hulley's of Baslow (Defunct)

That's a great shame. I had thought that it was doing OK during the spring and summer although it must be difficult in the colder months. Very sad. I am glad I went on it on my first trip out after the last lockdown, mid April. Sad after the attempts at improvement with this, then the extension...

Trips by Bus and Coach: Your reports

I was able to get another trip out last Thursday the weather forecast for the North West was for a glorious day, as indeed it was, and there were no other constraints at home or work. The majority was on Arriva buses so I have posted this here. So 7am saw me parking up in St Helens with sunrise...

    Transdev Blazefield

I have had another look on BusTimes to see how Team Pennine are doing. All caveats about the accuracy of BusTimes remain. The tendered rural routes generally look better than recently, all board appear to be running on everything except one 563 is missing and no 524 running. However there is a...

    Arriva Buses (including Greenline)

The 18, 479 and Sunday 3 are Surrey tenders and, assuming Arriva have given notice to terminate them, Surrey will presumably put them out to tender again. I guess no-one will register them unless and until they win the tender. Stagecoach might have bid for the 479 but then again they might not...

First West of England (Bristol, Bath & The West)

Saw a purple Citylines 3/4 branded B9TL on suspended tow heading west out of London on the M40 yesterday. Could have been heading for the M4 westbound due to the M4 weekend closure so perhaps headed for Bristol. Couldn’t see the number- perhaps 37617 or 37618?

That is utterly unacceptable. Not like it broke down on the way into the city, the whole board was missing for most of the day including the 1am departure from Manchester. They are allowing their good reputation to disappear in front of their eyes. Couldn’t agree more. Probably no point in...

First South West (Kernow & Buses of Somerset)

With the last three batches being: That's 22 new deckers for Somerset against 13 now on fleet (exc the open toppers). Is this likely to mean more deckers on the 21? And anything else (the 28 I believe cannot take them)?
