I can't say for certain, but it may be a possibility they were. Southern DEMU's were also built with air whistles, but converted to horns during their careers.

Various photographs over the years depict 08's with whistles, but some seem to have been converted to horns. I believe the 09's were built similarly, but I've only seen them fitted with horns.

I've seen various options including: C2C to West Ham Jubilee Line to Finchley Road Metropolitan Line to Amersham Chiltern to Great Missenden. I did also run this through the TfL journey planner, opting for least walking and step free access. It gave this typical route.

That would be right. I caught a train to London King's Cross about 08:20 this morning, only stop at Stevenage. There was me and one other in coach B all the way. The rest of the train was lightly loaded too.

An odd one here. Grantham has a bus station that is used by most local services. However, the Stagecoach #1 service from Lincoln stops outside, on its way to the railway station. It does call in when heading back to Lincoln though.
