    Guess the *BUS* Station

Correct of course :-) OT but was Newcastle unique for a provincial city in having as many as 5 concurrent bus/coach stations in the city centre?

    Guess the *BUS* Station

Another easyish one I hope. This place is a bus station now, but wasn't when this picture was taken. It was the parking area for at least two bus stations though.....

    Guess the *BUS* Station

Aye, Galashiels, again over 20 years ago. Does it still stand, or have things changed there too?

    Guess the *BUS* Station

Another one from way back when, this time a national and a Seddon. The stance that the national is parked at looks to have been somewhat modified by a less than alert driver!

    Guess the *BUS* Station

Yes, Consett- home to phileas fogg and DJH, but no longer a steelworks or even a bus depot now. National was RPT 757V and the Olympian C521LJR, this may even still exist?

    Guess the *BUS* Station

Not Gateshead. This was a quite a short lived building, decorated with bits of old local industry. It was assembled then demolished (due to the dingy design full of nooks and crannies attracting undesirables) within approx 20? years, now replaced by a smaller, lighter affair. The town is...

    Guess the *BUS* Station

Not Tonbridge or Steyning either. No idea if there is even a bus station there today, this was snapped shortly before I left on the national in the picture for a circuitous ride north(ish) approx 24 years ago, the last time I visited this town by bus!

    Guess the *BUS* Station

Agreed, it is nice to see bus stations with a bit of old time character. Anyway, here is the next one, taken a long time ago-

    Bolton - Richmond(North Yorkshire)

Practically, there are only two bus routes Northallerton to Richmond, the 54 and the 55. Both are infrequent, with 3 or 4 journeys per day. The 55 is the quickest at around 40 mins, but departs from the Buck Inn, around 15 minutes walk from the station. The 54 goes past the station but takes...

Tank of green liquid, Birkenhead Central renovation

I've heard of this before- apparently mixing detergent into concrete or cement can make it more durable? Maybe a water/detergent mix, so the fairy liquid suggestion might not be so daft!

    Malton?

Relaunched: Guess the station from the pictures!

    German Diesels

Unless they have now been taken over by dmu, there are weekday morning 218 workings into Salzburg from Landshut and Muhldorf on RE services. Don't know about Innsbruck though.
