    TOD collections onboard?

Where the card is known - whether it physically exists or not - then "same card collection" should be required from most, if not all, retailers. Virtual cards come in the category of the card being 'known'. Where the card is unknown - so PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Alipay etc. (these act as...

    September Cornwall Fares

Lots of TOCs are a long way off releasing dvance tickets 12 weeks away. It will be at least a year before the industry gets back to that universally. Mind you, I see the GWR site suggests it has availability for Advance tickets on those dates...

    TOD collections onboard?

ToD is on its way out. No-one's going to be spending money changing stuff. All retail sites say: "you will need the same card as you paid with to collect with", though PayPal, Apple Pay etc. of course mean 'any card' collection. Some stations and on-board staff can issue ToD too, sometimes...

WMR - Refused refund on abandoned journey

You are correct and are entitled to half the fare back. Assuming that a return costs twice as much as a single. With no admin fee.

    Caledonian Sleeper

    It's temporarily removed. Back soon.

    Avanti train cancellation

Staff at Blackpool North should not have prevented the OP travelling from Blackpool North; none of these trains are affected by restriction code 2C, which only bars travel on trains arriving into London Euston before 11.30 on Mondays to Thursdays.

    North Wales timetable 93/94

There was a (summer only?) early morning (aaround 09.00) Rock Ferry to Rhyl / Llandudno in 1970, as well as one later in the day (around 16.30). At least on the return from Llandudno it split from a Manchester Victoria service at Chester. These services ran (I think) until the mid 1980s. There...

    Caledonian Sleeper

Ah, ok, there is an issue with Aberdeen services on Fridays only from Friday 27th august to xmas. It should be fixed soon but not next week. Friday 27th august should become available next Saturday or Sunday though.

    Caledonian Sleeper

The Caledonian Sleeper is very busy at the moment, with many trains and dates sold out in most (or all) classes. I can see availability for London Euston to Averdeen and Glasgow, in different classes of accommodation, on many (but, of course, not all) dates. You will need to be more specific as...

Why can't I select London Terminals on Trainsplit?

Brfares shows what’s in the fares database. Not what is necessarily available. You should use a retailing site to determine what’s available for the journey you wish to make. On trainsplit “London all stations” is used to mean “London Terminals”.

    Delays, cancellations & delay repay

eTickets were introduced to meet customer expectations for more modern ticketing (driven by their experiences with airlines) that they were more in control of, and to reduce costs. They can also be more easily refunded / cancelled (nothing has to be handed back; the barcode can be cancelled) and...

    Delays, cancellations & delay repay

If the ticket you hold is a barcode ticket, or a smartcard ticket, and it is scanned / tapped then there will be a very good record of what you have done. With magnetic stripe tickets that doesn't exist at all.

Delay Repay - EMR Having to leave an hour earlier

Whilst it adds to the journey time and is undoubtedly inconvenient, can she not travel on the 14.45 from Hykeham, changing at Nottingham and Derby to arrive at Crewe at 19.00? There should be no cost to changing the Advance tickets, under the industry's "Book with Confidence" scheme, which all...

    Manchester to Peterborough

We launched it last year, just as yet another lockdown began... 1625931818 Thanks. We'll look to make that clearer. Of course, the real issue is that 1st Class fares are available for journeys that involve trivial / meaningless amounts of 1st class compared to the overall journey, and yet we...

She won’t be delayed, so no. I realise that sounds harsh.

    Manchester to Peterborough

On Railsmartr there are Advance fares for a total of £35.25, travelling out on the 10.37 and back on the 09.54 on the days you want (I don't know what times you want to go). Railsmartr is participating in "Book with Confidence" so you can cancel these Advance tickets up to 18.00 the day before...

Well, a very large number of services will be missing on Sunday. If the changes are not already in the schedules they will be in Darwin tomorrow.

    Northern Duo tickets

Well, I couldn't see Barrow, Whitehaven or Workington on that list, so perhaps that suggests there are no Duo tickets on the Cumbrian Coast? On the other hand, it was news to me that there are Northern Duo tickets from Basildon. Probably best not to treat the page as definitive.
