    'SG' - Regulation Question

It's not just the train regulation that has gone south since transfer to York ROC. Things like neighbouring signalboxes not being advised of possessions/line blockages that they have granted which go in to another boxes area of control. SBSIs not being followed which then causes problems on...

    New Signalling, ROC's

Yikes! Newly passed out signallers in our area are not allowed anyone with them, training or otherwise, for the first 6 months following passing out.

    New Signalling, ROC's

From my dealings with recent recruits/trainees is that it is the exception to have someone who cares about, or has an interest in the job. For most, it's "just a job" and a general indifference to it. Some have even been surprised that they have to work weekends and shifts.

Avanti WC down the pan again

Hence why I said what ran between Birmingham and Cambridge.

Avanti WC down the pan again

Around half of the trains on this route do not between Cambridge and Stansted anyway. The XC service is now generally every 2 hours between Cambridge and the Stansted Airport, with Cambridge to Birmingham being hourly except for 1 missing round trip (0922 ex Brum, and 1400 ex Cambridge)...

Avanti WC down the pan again

Assumng you are referring to today; the 1322, 1422, 1622, 1652, 1722, and 2022 all ran between Birmingham and Cambridge.

LNER: London Kings Cross to Inverness: no January services?

Only on a Saturday is the Aberdeen the last southbound departure from Edinburgh to Kings Cross. Mon to Fri there are later departures ex Edinburgh at 1830 and 1936. On a Sunday the last Aberdeen runs an hour earlier, departing Edinburgh at 1630.

Sheffield to Chesterfield disruption today 15/12/23

There's 6 booked services (5 passenger and 1 ECS) over the Manton route daily Mon to Fri. I'm guessing they are all crew by Derby men, hence London not getting a look in?

    St Pancras before HS1

The EMUs on the Corby services generally have around 23 minutes turnaround at St Pancras. The Meridians on the Nottingham and Sheffeild have as low as 10 minutes (1255 arrival forms the 1305 departure), but usually have around 40 minutes for the Nottinghams, and 23 minutes for the Sheffields...

    EMR Class 360's

LNER are bussing Corby-Grantham for a couple of weekends in January. You'd like to think that there won't be any 4 car formations then, but I suspect there will be.

ECML South disruption - OLE down 09/12

1D81 (180106) was earlier delayed south of Peterborough with technical issues. Perhaps a reoccurrence of the fault?

Potential future uses for class 68 & Mk5 sets?

There isn't a great deal of differentials between Peterborough and Ely. Welney Bridges being 60/SP75 the main one. It's the Ely to Norwich route that has the big differences. Ely North Jn to Lakenheath being 40/SP75 that has a big impact.

ECML South disruption - OLE down 09/12

GC only diverted 2 of their services, the rest being cancelled, or heavily delayed. HT only ran Hull-Doncaster. 1702318373 Any idea why it took 45 minutes to attach the loco?

ECML South disruption - OLE down 09/12

There has been plenty of overcrowding, particularly northbound, this morning as those who opted not to travel yesterday do so today.

ECML South disruption - OLE down 09/12

Platform 3 at Grantham only takes 3 cars max. It also has an operating restriction on it so it isn't normally used anymore, though does see occasional use. Platform 4 needs to be kept clear for the Nottingham and Skegness trains.

ECML South disruption - OLE down 09/12

Out of interest, does anyone know why 1F88 was delayed by 45 minutes at Peterborough? It shouldn't take 45 minutes to attach an assisting loco..
