Could we see something on the scale of Eurotunnel to other places e.g. Ireland?

Well Scotland's network is doing not too badly under the devolved government, maybe if your lot could stop bickering they might actually do something useful like invest in the transport network

The Ratho situation was not unique, and one survives as Carstairs Junction village is separate from Carstairs Village. I have always wondered why Holytown station is so called and not New Stevenson, as this is the village that it is in???

Correct - it is the Banana tree, The reason they walk comes down to how they are cultivated. Bananas for human consumption are all clones of a single plant selectively bred. The plants are grown asexually from offshoots of the plant. Generally, there are two shoots at any one time, one that is...

Could we see something on the scale of Eurotunnel to other places e.g. Ireland?

The move from Stranraer Harbour to Cairnryan was the nail in the coffin for foot passengers, you now have to get the train to Stranraer, hope that the shuttle bus is running to take you to whatever one of the two ports you are sailing from and then transfer to the ferry. A lot of hassle...

Could we see something on the scale of Eurotunnel to other places e.g. Ireland?

According to Wikipedia, the reasons cited for the withdrawal of the high speed catamarans and replacement by conventional ferries were decreasing passenger patronage, coupled with escalating fuel costs. One report stated that on the North Sea route the HSS was using more fuel than Stena's seven...

Add the 4A to that list, I don't understand why this bus is routed round the houses via Spean Street/Cartside/Sinclair Drive, I can only assume it would have been at one time to serve the SSB HQ at Cathcart, it takes ages along roads that are too narrow for modern buses and rarely picks up or...

    The pre-1977 Glasgow Subway

I remember as a small boy being taken by my father to exhibitions at the Kelvin Hall, we would get the train to Queen Street Low Level then walk over to Buchanan Street, then get the Underground to Partick Cross - I remember being quite frightened about the experience:s. There is a great song by...

Could we see something on the scale of Eurotunnel to other places e.g. Ireland?

I would agree - on a windy January Morning it is not a pleasant experience, being a short flight it only goes up to 16,000 ft so I have been on a flight that never got out of the clouds, a real bumpy ride!

Could we see something on the scale of Eurotunnel to other places e.g. Ireland?

Day trips to Glasgow are perfectly feasible just now, Easyjet flies four times a day in each direction and the prices are not bad (doubt if it would be cheaper by train). My former employers HQ was in Craigavon and I used to do day trips and managed a full day in the factory from Glasgow.

Try this one... Many of you will have watched the Lord of the Rings and will be familiar with the Ents - trees that could walk. Totally fiction? Actually not, as there is a tree that can physically move position on the ground (only about 15cm per year though:D) - name the type of tree!
