Lockerbie to Edinburgh Park via Glasgow

ScotRail's has responded and they said it's only valid if you go direct (so no Break of Journey?) from Queen Street. https://twitter.com/ScotRail/status/1352258754310512642

    Anytime Advance

When I say “booked on” I meant that I clicked that train on the journey planner app. The physical ticket does not say anywhere which train you are “booked on”.

    Anytime Advance

Did London to Crewe in October. Booked for the 18:46 train, but we decided to stay in London longer. The 19:34 got cancelled and the ticket was accepted on the 20:34 (despite booking for the 18:46 on the website). Plus Delay Repay so it was basically a free journey. I think "Anytime Day Single...

Lockerbie to Edinburgh Park via Glasgow

Hello everyone. I would like to know if a Lockerbie to Edinburgh Park ticket is valid via Glasgow. A quick look on the Routeing Guide (from Carstairs to Edinburgh Routeing Group) shows the maps for the route can be either EC or SR. Map EC on the left, map SR on the right: Additionally, I have...

Most pointless journey for which a fare is available

Are you sure that's not a ranger or rover? I'm sure no-one would pay that much. A Merseyrail day saver costs £4.10

How busy have your trains been?

07:29 CRE - EUS on Saturday was virtually empty. In my (first class) carriage there was only one other passenger (except from the people I was travelling with). I went on the same train (07:29) in October, virtually empty then too. The 17:40 out of Euston on Saturday again was different -...

    Avanti West Coast seat selector

Not at all - it says at the top “return for £xx.xx” and next to it it says “2 singles for £xx.xx” - it defaults to the former so you have to press the latter to get advances to show up.

Log on at https://www.avantiwestcoast.co.uk/train-tickets/register When you visit the avanti website (whilst signed in) it takes you to https://www.avantiwestcoast.co.uk/beta Just pop your journey details into the planner in the top right, it should bring up the new booking page. Avanti West Coast seat selector

I’ve found out how to select seats - you need to make an account with the “new website” and on that “new website” you can enter your journey details and it should come up with a new booking system. You can select your seats after selecting trains

Most pointless journey for which a fare is available

After a quick search it looks like a bus number 3B taking 28 minutes dropping you off at Harbour station. Annoyingly it doesn't run at an even frequency.

Most pointless journey for which a fare is available

Porthmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniog. £50.50 anytime day single or £50.90 off peak return. You can just take the Ffestiniog Railway from Porthmadog Harbour(?) - although I don't have a price or time for it, it's definitely cheaper and quicker than having to venture into England!
