advance ticket - all trains on that route cancelled - which route now?

It's all very unsatisfactory. The industry commercial policy for the day includes these relevant parts I would just travel via SW, if you must travel on the Saturday (noting the acceptance on other days, as above). What else would you be expected to do? Walk? Pay more money? I expect an SWR...

Acceptance of LNW ticket on Avanti between LIV & EUS because of multiple cancellations at LIV

Looking at this a bit more: - the final service from Paddington to Reading is at 00.34 (previous one at 23.33) - if the coach had got you to Crewe in time for the 20.16 Crewe to Euston (arr. 22.44) LNWR service then you would have been able to make either of these departures from Paddington -...

Acceptance of LNW ticket on Avanti between LIV & EUS because of multiple cancellations at LIV

Was your journey to Reading? If so, did you make it clear to staff at Liverpool Lime Street that this was your final destination and that - if you followed the LNWR advice - you would be stranded in London? (I'm assuming this is correct but without the times involved this is speculation)...

    Orange and cream tickets

They will work fine. The gates have had the ability to scan barcode tickets added, but they will still accept CCST tickets (the orange and cream ones you describe) which need to be put, face up, through the slot on the right hand side of the gate. eTickets use Aztec, not QR, barcodes.

E-Tickets not working with Android WalletPasses app

It could be any number of things. Why not try scanning the PDF instead of trying to use the Google Wallet app? Also, could you share the tickets here? And let us know what the error code on the gateline is. There should be enough info to help then.

    Leeds/Bradford airport to Skipton

You could get bus A2 from the airport to Apperley Bridge station, though it only runs once an hour.

    Caledonian Sleeper

Paranoid, I'm afraid! There are always as many Flexipass rooms as there are paid-for rooms. If you find a situation where this does not seem to be the case, let us know, please.

    Liverpool Stations

Tickets are set up to allow fulfilment as eTickets depending on: - origin - destination - route code (e.g. any permitted) - ticket type It doesn't depend on the itinerary. So a London Terminals to Liverpool Stations Off-Peak Single ticket will show as enabled for eTicket whether you go direct...

Permitted Routes Including Walk (Knutsford to Liverpool changing between Greenbank and Hartford)

The distance from Knutsford to Greenbank, then Hartford to Liverpool Lime Street, is 29.9 miles. Knutsford to Manchester Piccadilly is 21.5 miles, and Blundellsands & Crosby to Liverpool Lime Street is 7.1 miles - 28.6 miles in total, and therefore shorter. It's not a valid route though. (You...

Permitted Routes Including Walk (Knutsford to Liverpool changing between Greenbank and Hartford)

If there was a fixed link, yes. But there isn’t. In rail journey planning terms, there is simply no route from Knutsford to Liverpool via Greenbank and Hartford. I wouldn't refer to this as a 'break of journey' though, as that is a term that means something else entirely (and for which you must...

Why do Advance fares decrease in price?

The longer you have to wait, the more chance of a higher price for Sheffield to Gravesend Advance tickets, because the lowest-priced Advance ticket tiers for Sheffield to London on EMR have already sold out. You will just have to keep an eye on things and calculate your appetite for risk. No...

Is a 2 mile walk (suggested by journey planners) reasonable?

Fixed link is an industry data term meaning that, for a journey between two points, there is no schedule train (or bus or ship). Fixed link modes include - walk - underground - metro - bus - transfer It's these modes that are intended to be displayed on journey planners. I have always agreed...

Why do Advance fares decrease in price?

Friday 22 September has been opened for reservations on both EMR and SE, so you can book an Advance ticket from Gravesend to Sheffield. Sunday 24 September has not been opened for reservations on SE, so you cannot book an Advance ticket from Sheffield to Gravesend. You may need to wait only a...
