Sorry, we can't hear you over the rattling. Did you say something?

    Least successful production chassis

Dennis Dorchester and to a lessor degree the Dennis Javelin. Not in comparison to some of the production numbers here - more in the context of their market share compared to their direct competitors (Leyland Tiger and Volvo B10M respectively)

I have a vague recollection they might have had these changed out, but I could be wrong?

Trivia : Liveries which make good buses look bad

Definitely a candidate. I can imagine how they thought it was going to work from a render. The reality was just so wrong it looked cheap and it wore terribly as demonstrated by 61370.

Trivia : Liveries which make good buses look bad

I agree. The Gemini/Eclipse 2s would benefit from the softening of the turns as seen on the XLBs and not the sharp edges that better suit the Gem 3s. That ain't going to happen now with so many painted now and the eldest probably due replacement before their next repaint would be due. (COVID...

Trivia : Liveries which make good buses look bad

Over on the other side of the country KCB Network looked absolutely resplendent on the PS types which were brilliant vehicles (and I'm beyond delighted this one is so beautifully preserved!) https://flic.kr/p/VzFHxQ Then Barbie came along, which was a downgrade not helped by the fact that they...

Trivia : Liveries which make good buses look bad

I was never the biggest fan of Lothian Harlequin, it takes me back to the characterless Tridents but it sat really well on the Geminis https://www.flickr.com/photos/busmanscotland/49143179922 The madder that replaced it was sympathetic to the front end but that upward madder swoop to meet the...

    West Lothian buses

Absolutely no need to apologise :D Under its own steam usually means by its own power and it's what I meant in this case. I.e. driven to its destination, not towed, or on the back of a low loader. I think the phrase will hark back to railway days gone by of stream trains.

    West Lothian buses

That's likely what they have done, by disposed of I meant disposed from their fleet. Sold it - to whom and for what I can only guess but it will no doubt come out. I'd imagine for reuse as it went away on trade plates under its own steam. They are 2006 models under the private plates iirc...

Fair enough not sexy enough to be photoed perhaps or I missed them all! Looks smart for its age to be fair!

Did it turn a wheel in actual service? It always seemed way out of alignment to the rest of the MC fleet. I don't recall ever seeing it get "papped" anywhere but the depot!

What do you think are the ugliest buses ever built?

I think most deroofed decker > single conversions didn't look right... https://www.flickr.com/photos/77000628@N02/9963108126

In your opinion, what are the most beautiful buses ever made?

Going with the older stuff, the Alexander Y type for me, the earlier ones more so (not my pictures full credit on links): https://www.flickr.com/photos/westernsmt/30532330297 https://www.flickr.com/photos/georgeupstairs/2925928831 https://www.flickr.com/photos/beepee2004/3546401408/

    Lothian Buses and ECB Discussion

Covid probably presents new opportunity for Motorcoaches, although not immediately. Lothian should be in a position to weather the storm and be ready to pick back up again on the other side of all this, by which point smaller coach-only focused competitors may not have survived. The repaints...

    West Lothian buses

Spotted today around 4pm was one of the ex Arriva B7RLE/Eclipse in debranded Lothian Country Green/Cream on trade plates heading South on the A1 at Tranent. Didn't get the registration but that would make it one of 103-107. Going to guess disposal?

In your opinion, what are the most beautiful buses ever made?

I agree on the Delta, with a modern destination display and light clusters and that would be nicer than most of what money can actually buy you in 2020!

    Bus Enthusiast Etiquette.

I never thought I'd see the words Extremist and Bus Spotter in the same sentence. It has amused me greatly and I thank you for it. In all seriousness, they do sound like the worst type of people though who should know much better.
