Where can the oldest colour light signal on the national network be found?

Given that many older colour light schemes are being renewed/replaced with LED's, where is the oldest surviving working example on the national network?

Thameslink driver refuses to move train 16/11

Maybe Farringdon station is now not fit for purpose with the increase in passenger numbers - especially as it now has to deal with 3 main flows of passengers (i.e. TL, LUL and Lizzy line)

Thameslink driver refuses to move train 16/11

Excuse my ignorance but how have the platform crowds been "managed" at Farringdon since the opening of Thameslink in 1987/8 which has always been DOO? I used to commute through and work near Farringdon every day in the early 1990s and was either blind or deaf to happenings except that the...

    Speeding Fine

Ironic that some of the main roads in South East London have been reduced to 20mph, yet you can still go up a residential side street and do 30mph. The signs are there...

    My scanned slides - 1977-1985

Me too. I have many 35mm albums full of photos (and hard drives !) Big shock to Mrs Islineclear3_1 who will (most likely) want me out of the house to continue "doing train". This means, many of my photos won't see the light of day until I instruct in my will to make them publicly available...

    Where are the 73s ?

On my daily commute (up and down the motorway) I have seen probably one 73-plate a day in the last 3-4 weeks. One of them was actually, a Tesla - a nice green one

    Fireworks

You know you're getting old when.... ;) Yes I have found that certain sounds tend to be more intolerable/irritable now than in the distant past. But also I do get annoyed in people setting off fireworks anywhere, anytime without any consideration for others or animals, e.g. cats

help with response to fare evasion notice of intention to prosecute

I would leave out "sincerest apologies" and "deeply regret" as you boarded a train without a valid ticket and attempted to defraud the railway by short-faring The experts will be along soon to advise the best course of action

Storm Ciarán: Weather related disruption 1/2 November

Clearly not in the minds of many people... I laid my (empty) wheelie bins flat last night with a couple of bricks inside to reduce the risk of them getting blown around.

    What's your latest acquisition?

Really !? Thanks for the heads-up :D Just had a quick look and yes, impressive stuff! Glad Bachmann are doing 1506; let's hope they number it 411.506. From the pictures, looks like the motor is in one of the driving coaches: let's hope this is moved to the brake compartment (I won't hold my...
