    Youtube links and Video sites

As I post from the island of wight this week, here is a video I made of trains at Brading, featuring some shots further towards Sandown.

GBRF confirms conversion of Class 56s to Class 69s

Bizarre choice to call the livery a joke when it's practically the same as the original red stripe 56, except for the whisker at the front which spoils it a bit but it's the same as the original except the logo change. What's the problem?

GBRF confirms conversion of Class 56s to Class 69s

Certainly looks the business. Thought it only went in just before the weekend (as 66791 came out in Heidelberg). Very quick. Other than the red buffer beam at the front (I don't know, it looks a bit too red), this is my second favourite behind 69002.

Isle of Wight class 484 axle load.

Catching the units this afternoon got me wondering if vivarail went bust and SWr are maintaining these, wonder what their life expectancy is....

GBRF confirms conversion of Class 56s to Class 69s

Just seen a photo of 015 in a grey and yellow livery on Facebook. Won't post a picture as source as we never know if it's real or not. Red speed whisker red stripe

RAIB investigating near miss on Bluebell

How does the second steam locomotive move as well? Can the piping release the brakes on all locomotives when attached? Even that being the case 4m is quite a distance on a flat section of track

Isle of Wight Island line updates/news

That's what I've always seen it as. Most of the island relies on bus.

    What's your latest acquisition?

These are even more prone to derailments in reverse due to the reduction in flange diameter seen in recent models. I still use my original track from the 2000s and can't run any dapol stock reliably because out of the box they come with wheels with flanges only as deep as a pin head - very...

    Future of Operational Steam Locomotives

Wonder if household waste can be used to power steam locomotives, that's one thing that'll never be in shortage and obviously many incinerators use the burned waste to power a turbine for power generation.

    What's your latest acquisition?

Just been running mine, runs very well, even at speed. Shame only the power car has lights. The white headlights stay on all the time, reverse or forward, and the dummy has no lights whatsoever. But beautiful detail it's a great addition. Spent most of this morning building a new siding to...

    What's your latest acquisition?

It's just the livery and buffers. All the times I saw the GC Hst They had the plain black livery no orange stripe, and the black headlights. They'll be fine for a while but the buffers really are an integral part of the GC fleet IMO. sorry

    What's your latest acquisition?

Don't mind spending that but I'm DC only , not sure if the sound would work albeit basic functions. I'm using a HM2000. Seems bizarre they haven't reproduced new ones. Although if they did I recon it would be at least £50 more than the above

    What's your latest acquisition?

Bought the railroad GC 43 rake for just under £200. First glance it doesn't look like the dummy power car has lights (didn't see any pickups, I could be wrong) but I'll accept that. The coaches are fantastic value for money given the power cars value at £149.99 a pair. Beautiful livery and...

Trivia: Furthest distance a train has been held for

Newhaven freight trains are regularly held at balcombe tunnel junction to allow the fast trains from Gatwick and Haywards heath to pass on the fast lines. Although it's booked to wait there, there probably have been instances where a train leaves Gatwick and the freight is held at the balcombe...

SWR outgoing Metro fleet withdrawals (complete)

Is it still worth bothering going to London for 455s or are they going relatively thick and fast? I see a new photo nearly every day on FB of one/two going for scrap at the moment...

(Bit of fun) UK NR station with most different classes of loco/unit in a day?

    What happened to Brighton :( 158 171 313 319 377 387 442 700 (I recon at one point you could probably had all of those in a day) Now it's just 377/387/700

    Traksy Website

Do you know when the new site will go live to everybody ? I've paid a few times to support etc but I don't really go out much to having it coming out every month lol . Perhaps as a paid addon, you could use the c2c unit numbers instead of headcode as an option/upgrade . So you can see unit...
