Bradford Interchange Bus Station closed until further notice

Looking at the booklet, the Santander office block was built on part of the 1977 facility, what was done with / to the basement (bus garage) underneath that part? Also I note that the maintenance area was lit naturally by sky-lights, again now built over by 1 The Interchange, what was done...

WCRC loses judicial review in High Court

To be pedantic to a point, you cannot extend something which no longer exists. I suggest a new exemption / derogation (or whatever phrase) will be required. Starting from scratch, under current views of the rules. It has ceased to be, it as an ex-exemption, beautiful plumage.

Trivia: Where can you still buy a single for less than £2?

Didn't think of checking there! My local operator (First Potteries) won't publish fare tables or the method of calculating singles beyond 'it is based on distance' so I'm in the habit of not looking.

Bradford Interchange Bus Station closed until further notice

Here, by Flickr user Bradford Timeline, is a brochure showing the previous (1977) interchange with plans showing the much large public area and the garage underneath. The document can be downloaded from Flickr as a zip file containing 36 images rather than a single pdf so I haven't attached them.

Somewhat lacking in transparency. Go on, give people a hint. Roof, windows, snakes on a plane train?

    New Station calendar

Further amendment to the Northumberland Line details. There is some flip-flopping about the possible opening date for 'the line'. So I've gone for the easy way out - 2024. Northumberland Park wasn't mentioned as delayed last week but now is, so has been changed to 2025.

Trivia: Where can you still buy a single for less than £2?

Stagecoach have a fare of £1.60 between Blackburn town centre and the hospital on service 59. Blackburn and Rosso (both Transdev) charge £2. Whether that £2 is the capped fare, the normal fare, or I was just robbed by a driver not pressing the correct buttons I know not.

    New Station calendar

The picture story (above link) refers to a previous article (Friday 12th): Yorkshire Evening Post (Leeds news you can trust since 1890) If they used project management software, it would give them a revised completion date, rather than a vague 'later'

Trivia: Where can you still buy a single for less than £2?

First Potteries has adult single fares of £1.50 and £1.90. Available as cash, contactless and tap 'n' go. I always buy them under tap 'n' go so the driver can't pull the 'all fares are £2.00' trick. When the local 'affordable fares' initiative came in (as part of the Bus Service Improvement...

    New Station calendar

I have updated the table to reflect changes in the programme for the Northumberland line - route and four stations (of six) now expected to open late this year (November / December) with two stations opening 'six months' later. See the linked thread for more information.

Ah, could they become as famous as the Ingleton Waterfalls? Some of us remember the previous 'new' interchange!

WCRC loses judicial review in High Court

The hearing ended on 22 November 2023. I guess there was an inkling then that things weren't going WCRC's way. The judgement was handed down on 22 December 2023. Starting on one of those dates, someone should have been burning the midnight oil to get an extended/revised exemption in place with...

WCRC loses judicial review in High Court

Blather. More blather. Some more blather. It's everyone else's fault, look what damage those other people are causing, we are the reasonable ones. A UK regulator actually regulating, whatever next.

    HSTs to Nigeria

Fair enough, not my bag, I just assumed a Talgo set was the whole thing, perhaps the salesman pulled a fast one there! Anyone got a bridge for sale, willing buyer. I just looked carefully at the Talgo Series 8 picture on Wikipedia and, indeed, there is a big lump just visible at the far end.
