    1st class on commuter services

That's what I meant thefab444. If a train doesn't state the service conveys first class then that's what I would class the timetable as showing a train not having FC.

    1st class on commuter services

As Yorkie states - if the timetable advertises that the train does not have first class service, but the train it uses does, then it is effectively declassified.

    'Railway Children' charity donation

Firstly, well done. It's not often a website like this would donate to a charity. It's nice to see - I'm sure charities need money more than ever at the moment. To the members - if you do decide to donate to the Railway Children, my hat off to you. The Railway Children truly are a wonderful...

    London Network

G I won't talk about as I don't know much about it, but zone W is there specifically as it becomes the point at which revenue on that route is shared with the TOC's as tickets can be used on both the Overground and London Midland fast services.

    Which bullet train?

As with others I'd say consider the region. Personally I'd prefer a Javelin, as on the size of a model railway I could feasibly build, I couldn't fit the full length of a pendolino, and at least a full Javelin is a fair bit shorter.

Simpler fares, simple to buy your ticket

Quote from handbook: If you want to tell them where to look, the discounted fares are shown in the 'Through Fares to NR Stations' book supplied to the ticket offices by Rail Fares. I have worked in LU ticket offices, and can see all the ticket office handbooks. Ticket offices at the...

    London Network

Yes I think alot of people do find that confusing... I know the station is classed as not in the zones as it is outside of the M25. But then so is the bus station - it may have just been that it is a good location for a bus terminus - plus thats where the town is, anyway. As to having...

Yeah Waltham Cross bus station is classed as within the zones.

Simpler fares, simple to buy your ticket

No problem, at least you said you weren't sure! Also relating to your previous post, I've now been led to believe that LU stations can no longer issue penalty fares, so they can't be threatening you with that - only RCI's can do so.

Its Not Just the Victoria Line...

And don't forget the upgrades program isn't just about stock - the Jubilee, Northern, and Piccadilly lines are already either underground or expecting major signaller renewal and development work.

VWC Advance fares: Something screwy and unfair going on?

Another angle to this, I noticed VWC's ticket booking section yesterday had a note at the top stating they were having problems accessing the national reservations database and were unable to offer me advance tickets. This is following an e-mail I sent to VWC last week with regards to no...

It's an unnecessary cost. Why change the signals and electrification when the current system works fine.

    Is the Thameslink idea flawed

Indeed, I was going to have to comment on this one - the Circle has 6 trains in each direction at a time - hardly 37! Plus the fact it's interaction with the Hammersmith, Metropolitan and District lines mean it has major problems with delays on other services!

    Is the Thameslink idea flawed

With regards to this whole "24tph" m'lark - the Jubilee Line currently does operate a 24tph service - (this is before all this fancy TBTC and/or ATO comes in and increases that). Dwell time targets are usually around 32-36 seconds. This considering that the line is two tracked. And the late...
