    Special Offers Discussion

It's not a railcard so it really shouldn't be in the section of an app or website about railcards. That's just going to cause more confusion for passengers.

Increase of TfL Incomplete Journey Fare Trial

There's a danger of getting into the Railforum standard minority here. People have been campaigning for 'London style contactless' to be extended further out from London for years. This has happened but it brings complications if there is a missed touch in, whether deliberate or inadvertent...

TOCs that can sell TOD on board

They are very edge cases, and I wouldn't want to give the impression to 'regular' passengers that it's fine to purchase on board when it generally isn't.

TOCs that can sell TOD on board

Just a reminder that passengers should be in possession of tickets before they board the train where ticket issuing facilities exist. Most stations have a TVM these days so onboard sales or collection of tickets should be the exception rather than the norm.

    Delay Repay Downgrade

Can you give details of the trains you intended to make, along with what actually happened, and forum members will be happy to assist. Without this information we cannot help.

LNR (WMT) ticket office at Euston to close

I beg to differ. Screenshot shows a LinkedIn post by a WMT Area Manager celebrating the re-opening of the Excess fares window which has been closed since 2021. https://www.linkedin.com/in/bisi-hassan-979888178/recent-activity/all/

LNR (WMT) ticket office at Euston to close

I passed through Euston at the weekend and noticed that an WMT operated Excess Fares window on platform 11 has opened. I don't know if this is something that DfT or London Travelwatch insisted on as part of the agreement to close the WMT operated ticket office at Euston but it's good to see it...

Delay repay with 1st class supplement

I've claimed 1st class upgrades as part of delay repay claims in the past.

Delay repay eligibility (early departure, "on time" arrival)

I'm not sure this is appropriate. The OP original intention to arrive at 19:53 and they were not delayed. The time spent travelling was longer then planned but delay repay is compensation paid when you arrive at your destination later than planned. Saying you were intending to catch the 15:53...

    Gold Card rules

If ticket acceptance is in place then your ticket is valid. I suggest purchasing the ticket at a ticket office rather than online because we have had reports of Gold Record Cards not being sent out when purchased online. As noted above any ticket office in the Gold Card area can sell the...

    Supermarkets discussion

The rescan was doen incorrectly by the store colleagues. If a full rescan is required then the staff must scan everything with the smartshop handset. This is for two reasons: 1. Nectar offers won't get applied if the rescan is done throug a main till 2. The rescan will get recorded as...

Huge gaps in Stevenage to London services: LNER won't help (19/06)

There’s been significant disruption on the GN side of GTR’s network today. Cambridge to Brighton trains cancelled along with the Cambridge to Kings Cross stopping service. LNER said that when there was significant disruption they would convey passengers between London and Stevenage. This...

    Cambridge South new station opening

That’s all good but I’m still surprised there’s no retail provision at the station itself. There are alternative facilities near other stations all over the country but this doesn’t stop facilities being provided at stations.

    Cambridge South new station opening

The catchment area of a convenience store is very small, especially when there's high footfall like at a railway station. In addition to the M&S and Sainsbury's Local at Cambridge there's now a Tesco Express opposite the station and a Co-op not far away. Just a bit surprised that with the...

    Cambridge South new station opening

I was in the area yesterday so popped in to take a look. Observations: - The station was busy considering it has only been open for 4 days. Very encouraging - The station is going to be freezing in winter for staff. The external walls to the station building are effectively open - There are...

Why are some staff so ignorant about ticketing matters?

Routeings like 'via York' or 'via Rugby; rather than 'Any Permitted' do need to go but routeings like 'via High Wycombe' as a cheaper alternative to 'Any Permitted' should stay.

Off Peak Travelcard Validity during Peak

I agree with waiting, but the Zone U1256 ticket referred to above can only be used on the Underground, not the Elizabeth Line or Heathrow Express.
