If they'd rather have empty seats then make a bit of cash from folk in Airedale, that's their choice.
Or is it just an admission that the main party of the tour holds very limited appeal?
Another international couple:
Firenze - Roma
Hoek van Holland - Amsterdam Centraal (and back)
A trip which also involved Liverpool St - Harwich PQ (and back)
Shortest:
Stourbridge Junction to Stourbridge Town
Longest:
Fort William to Euston
Most interminable:
Manchester Piccadilly to Milford Haven
Most unusual:
Bradford Forster Square to Shipley
Countless others
Thankfully not.
There used to be a Paddington to Edinburgh service back in the 80s. I remember a magazine article where the reporter did it throughout.
Increasing the distance and hence minimum connection time between the two Bradford stations will make cross Bradford connections even less attractive and funnel even more passengers through Leeds.
Maybe that's the plan - close Interchange to encourage more passengers onto LNER's virtually empty services between Leeds and Forster Square.
So passengers will have to pay twice. Marvellous.
