I had a day out in the valleys last weekend. One thing I noticed at Treherbert was an inordinately large number of upright columns in the middle of the platform (for things like lighting, CCTV etc). I counted 20, mostly only with one item at the top (the notable exception being speakers...

I imagine that some decent safety boots might give better grip than walking boots (and vice versa). But I don't think a generic statement could be made to that effect... (Anecdote alert) I once did a weekend of walking in the Peak District in (really cheap) steel toes rather than walking boots...

It is, well done. There was so much freight going through, but unfortunately I was slightly too late in the day to get decent pictures - not quite enough light. And everything was really slow. But still much better than the rubbish amount of freight going through most UK stations

Plenty of variety/haulage through Berlin Hbf - probably a bit better on the upper level? Been a few years since I was last there though so I may be out of date. For freight you'll probably have to venture out to somewhere on the Ringbahn, but I couldn't say where the best place to go would be

By contrast, I was fined (about £26) for using a day pass on the Budapest Metro. I was originally planning to buy a month pass, but then decided to buy a couple of days passes instead because it would save me about £5 or so and didn't properly read the details... That went well!

Might have seen a couple of older cars today. This one is particularly relevant to this forum... Easily somewhere in the region of £10-£15 million worth of cars at this event!

Somewhat off topic, but is that unit Austrian-registered? I've not come across class 4746s in Germany but plenty in Austria.
