Arriva route 24 between mochdre and Colwyn bay via rhos on sea has such a stop on its route with a sign on one side of the road saying in both directions . It's located next to the co-op on Llandudno road.
Chiltern i would think would be a good option for electrification seeing as it serves London and a huge area of the home counties and would release a tone of somewhat modern DMUs and the class 68s so I think it's likely to be electrified in the long term and probably wouldn't use 323s or 455s
What about one for Stafford ? Could allow virgin services northwards to avoid going through the station without stopping plus freight could use it as well.
I would prefer to see more Wales and borders branding in some places like Shrewsbury or Chester .
new livery looks great on the 175s I'm going to miss them.
Could they have a few test runs to holyhead and Llandudno ?
Would be useful to check if they fit the route before the transport for wales ones arrive .
Technically there 769s but pretty much yes . Although for a different purpose than originally intended. It was originally intended for them to work commuter services from Paddington but the 769s will work reading area locals .
There was a picture in a modern railways magazine some time ago of at least 5 power lines of various sizes somewhere on the branch with a 185 in the back ground so centenary isn't new to the lake district.
I would take Wales and borders and do the following :
Order a fleet of 30 5 coach CAF mk5 sets and 15 class 88s to propel them . The current number of civitys on order wouldn't change other than I would make some of them bi-mode
Then I would redesign the network into fast and slow services...
Interesting idea all I can realistically suggest is to extend the Chester terminators to Bangor with the same number of services to holyhead as at present.
