After such an awful advice, do you guys still think it is a good idea to hire a solicitor (a different one) to represent my case or shall I simply post the apology letter to TFL and ask for administrative settlement?

Is it 10 days from the date I received the letter or from the day they wrote the letter? What do you think the reasonable settlement should be?

This is so confusing, as per the advice of esteem members of this forum, I contacted the so called BEST solicitor in UK re fare evasion and they advised to call TFL Prosecution and explain what happened and apologize and that should resolve the matter. :(

Exactly, if I have to spend 1K to avoid court, it makes more sense to pay TFL instead of paying to solicitor.

Exactly this is what I don't understand why shall I spend a single penny on solicitor just as yet. Everyone on the forum pressing me to either plead guilty (YORKIE) OR contact a solicitor and spend thousand on them.

Oh really, I don't have that sort of money to pay solicitors just to draft a letter for me. I know it was a one off mistake and I learnt my lesson and I have no other option but to try my best to convince TFL to accept out of court settlement.
