Surely it isn't beyond the realms of technology to enable the sockets to be deactivated during passenger service? It's quite likely that if the charger had exploded and injured our artist friend, he would have tried to claim damages. It has happened with burglars and householders.

I think that they missed a trick by not utilising the old Eurostar platforms at Waterloo. That could have been the self-enclosed terminal that would achieve aim of maniacmartin. The politics of it may be another matter though!

I think that you can only purchase the add-on from a station in the network area. I tried it at Leamington and was refused. I had travelled there by bus from Coventry.

I like Class 60's. They make an excellent 6 o'clock morning alarm with a vibration function ( the whole house shakes)! Keep them in service, at least until I retire. :D

30/12/14 5G52 1641 Nottingham to Birmingham New Street was the one that I saw. Normally 1G52 when running.

It has happened at the Nottingham end recently as well. I occasionally see ECS trains (interior lights off) come past that are normally scheduled services. There was one, I believe, on Tuesday afternoon.
