A fair few have and already in post route learning at moment. A fair few existing freight drivers jumping over as well. It won’t be for everyone this type of job.

    Diversionary routes into Glasgow Central

Some Of them sign Law to Uddingston. LNER have no diversions at all which on the rare occasion causes chaos, I know of a driver that sat outside Motherwell for 2 hours recently on up due to not signing Uddingston to Motherwell diversion. If you sign core route then one or two fail safes should...

    Should I switch to freight?!

DB Cargo have moved to a defined contribution scheme and out of RPS for new joiners , I am not sure what the rules are on DC schemes. To the original poster, I am making the move myself and have reservations but only one life and job satisfaction (hopefully) trumps everything else within reason...

    Freightliner Rapid Deployment Driver

There is no typical week and and yes you do get rest days where they will try their best to group them together as much as possible but you won’t get to know until the Friday. You do not work in a link system as it will all depend on contracts you are being assigned to.

    Freightliner Rapid Deployment Driver

Hi, the depot locations are just for their HR system but I’d imagine it would be an hour if you choose to return there. The 2 year time scale is to give you the chance to review if you want to continue in that role or go back to your chosen base location. You then renew for another 2 years if...

    Freightliner Rapid Deployment Driver

Closer to £87k with recent pay deal, you sign up for 2 years and contrary to belief it it isn’t solely possession work. They predominantly want the RDDs to work on new enquiries coming in rather than the boom and bust of recruiting a drivers based at a depot to begin with especially if...

    Rapid deployment driver - Freightliner

On the guff that he sent that's the deal. You can either continue as a RDD or go on FL HH conditions they are up front on that. You are on the HH salary from the start the other £25k is made up of allowances.

    Rapid deployment driver - Freightliner

Hiya, There are just using the locations so they can post the vacancies but it is near enough identical to the GBRf one. If they don't have any work for you for a few weeks you would be a heavy Haul driver at your nearest location..

    Rapid deployment driver - Freightliner

I have phoned him with no reply as yet. 1654093680 It’s a 2 year contract and at end you can either extend or go back to base depot on heavy haul conditions.

GBRf Class 99 - 30 locomotives now ordered

Do you envisage GB getting more IM traffic to Scotland? New Mossend Yard starting to take shape, I would have thought they would be in amongst the opportunities that presents.

    Maximum age of train drivers?

Aslef are in support of it, you have drivers who take their pension and continue (which is their right to btw) Well into late 60s and do not contribute back to the pension scheme for those years and I think that's what Aslef's view is.

    Maximum age of train drivers?

Not at our depot they are all in the same link. What is becoming more common now is Part Time and Job Share arrangements which is something I would like to do in the future health permitting. I am of the opinion going from an extreme shift pattern to nowt is a big shock to system and you do...
