The depot's about done at Scarbs. Any TPE insiders know whether they might be keeping that set at the seaside to make sure that it fits, or whavever it is that you do to make sure the depot can be used?

Thanks for the great photos all. They make this one of the best threads on here, and I'm lucky that it just happens to cover the trains which run on "my" line.

I don't have any inside knowledge, but I think they've completed the all the work to the track that they intend. It looks like this is all about finishing the depot facilities themselves now.

Dull as ditchwater update: chaps still on site, depot still slowly moving towards completion. You might be able to spot the fuel tanks in the left hand picture and of course that’s the access platform for the stabled train appearing in both pictures. I think a small shed is part of the depot...

That's right. There's a thread over on the Infrastructure sub forum. And in fact I have some not very good photos somewhere on my phone of construction.

Just like to thank everyone that has contributed to this thread over the last few weeks, whether by tracking down the test run timings or the awesome selection of images. it is nice to see the introduction of these trains moving closer, and good to be genuinely excited about my own local railway.

I don't think trickyvegas is suggesting Leeds. The stretch of Airedale between Bradford and Keighley is solidly developed, with some sizeable employers. Skipton has the Building Society's head office. These places are destinations for commuters in themselves.

One of the 68's was relaxing between runs at Scarborough on Friday morning, with two in the bay at York when I came through late yesterday evening:

Tracklaying seems to be complete, with new rails and seepers in place and ballasted all the way up to the depot site. Construction of the depot is still in the early stages, but there were plenty of chaps and plant working away on Friday morning.
