I was informed that the power from the engines in existing 80x is never distributed and only serves the powered vehicle itself. They could do the same on the 810 if 1 bogie on the powered vehicle was run from the local engine and the other bogie was powered by the engine in the adjacent vehicle...

These are the first 80x where there are more engines than driven vehicles. How does this work? Do all the engines feed a common ‘power bus’ or is each driven bogie supplied by an individual engine? I think on current 80x each engine only powers the vehicle it is mounted on BICBW.

And still isn’t over two months later. Why the delay, I wonder?

The 442s were built at the same time as electrification was extended to Weymouth so could have been designed to be dual voltage from the outset.

When Bournemouth to Weymouth was electrified I wonder if OHLE was considered along with making the 442s dual voltage. How would the costs have compared?

Nottingham was partially renumbered on remodelling. Platform 4 became a long west facing bay and the far end of 4 became 5, built out to meet the only remaining through line. Then 5 became 6 and 6 became 7.

Although the carriages are longer the bogie centres are roughly the same as a Mk3 with the extra length in the vehicle ends, hence why these are tapered. They have been designed to go pretty much everywhere a Mk3 can go.
