On various Pacers in the late 80s there was a very big lurch in Thackley tunnel, between Shipley and Leeds. It must have been big as it was VERY noticeable, even above all the other lurches and sways that Pacers were prone to.

NCT have run to Long Eaton in the past. I think it was the FastLine 500 in the late 80s or early 90s. I used to use it on my student EasyRider ticket to go and do some spotting at Toton.

Probably a stupid question, but here goes! If increased capacity was required for special events, could they be operated with 2 Mk5 sets with a loco in the middle? Probably platform lengths is an issue, but is it technically possible?
