I started to take photos of the interior then someone inside pulled the blinds down! Bit of a comedy situation, as I waved and smiled back in return! I could see some of the patterns inside and a plush looking couch, it was so sunny the photos mainly show reflections of the outside.

Celia was out again today on 1Z55 1000 Victoria to Oxford. There were a total of 4 of the Brighton Belle coaches in the consist. Celia carries the TOPS number 99593 on the sole bar under the nearest door.

I thought the plan would be that these would be 99401-99410?

I’ve just passed Peterborough yard, 99003 is at the north end with another 99 attached, number of that obscured by trees though.

I’m intending to catch up with Celia in the summer when it’s running. From memory of the other carriages on the Belmond Pullman, there’s a small plate somewhere that displays the original number, possibly at the carriage ends?

Any idea if the former identity of Celia was car 92 or 93?

Correct! In 2018, DRS had the contract for 6S31 and 6E36, so it was often hauled by a class 88. Now it is Colas hauled with 56s (until recently), 66s and 70s. Only way this would be a regular class 99, is if GBRf won this contract from Colas.

I’ve heard these Colas locos are for class 91 set rescues only as they can’t couple to an Azuma, is this correct?
