In the perfect world I would agree with ALR. I have done the Leeds - KingsX run many times since the Eureka (whatever) service started. And the FC comp service does need a bit more consistency and continuity. But it is early days with this service. People need to know what sort of bang for...

I have lost count of the times I have used that service with GNER, NXEC and EC. And to be honest the menu and the stops are done by different people (guard and catering/service manager) and different crews. It has never bothered me what they say or how they say it. So long as the train moves on...

I think the operators should approach the matter in the way McD's and similar eateries and pub/bars. Have a designated pooper trooper who has to sign a chart on the wall of each w/c with the time and date.

Agreed. I rate them as terrible verging on unusable.

I was on the 17:00 KingsX to Edinburgh on Monday. The FC carriage I was in was about 80% full, but only two people took up the hot meal offer and that was it. Even the drinks were snubbed by most.

Indeed, I do not want to be involved in passenger disputes as the guard will know I have a staff card and may feel I have made a situation worse. I would rather advise the guard and allow them to judge the situ first. I never abuse my staff card, but do feel I have a responsibility to assist...

I agree 100% but I just know someone will say they are talking quietly and their phone is on silent ring. Which okay I understand but........ rules are rules and they will kick off for me being pedantic :(

I think we all would in those situations and throw them out the window. But we have laws sadly. :(

My own view is even outside the quiet coach there is a limit to what people should have to put up with noise wise. And it's also an indication to staff that someone playing very loud music is going to be a problem passenger from the off. Same as the feet on seats and tables etc. They will...

To be honest I don't think a lot of them notice they are in the quiet car. Done it myself. But then it hasn't taken me long to clock the signs!
