I thought you meant that the 166 system has a separate dehumidifier? I think I'm getting confused! How does the 165 system work then? I'd have presumed that it was a standard evaporator and condenser circuit like any A/C system.

I thought an air conditioning system works as a dehumidifier anyway? In my car the A/C comes on automatically when turned to demist for this reason. But certainly good to hear that the cascaded 165s will be getting cold air. Memories of being packed into them on the TVL semi-fasts in summer...

Adalentes are best when the engine under your coach is dead... but they're not bad when operating normally. No Mk.3, but far superior to a Voyager.

SWT's 159s aren't bad- yes you have the irritating diesel engine shaking the whole coach, but the seats are great*. I miss the Adelentes on FGW too, the refurbished HST seats aren't great. The best ride I've had on a train is definitely on an ICE3, which was as smooth as an airliner in cruise...

There are some issues like that here at Temple Meads, but you won't get through the barriers without one. 4 machines for a busy station like Bristol is unacceptable. Salisbury has 3 and in comparison is tiny!
