will they let you relocate to within 60 mins of a depot if you don't already live there ? Some TOC/ Foc don't seem to allow this for some reason. Also can anyone actually use there website? Seems to have been broken last 2 weeks:{

Applied but recruitment said "relocation is not something we would consider" :'( shame as got family near the depot too

No I'm afraid, an NVQ is a vocational qualification, entirely separate from GCSE's, depending what training provider / college is involved you can do an apprenticeship without having maths & english GCSE'S ( C or higher) but not for any government funded courses

Are the psychometric assessments something the TOCs have to use or is it something they just chose to do?

Half the class I'd have kicked out the door on day 1, some people just aren't Capable of independent thought

I did a plumbing & heating apprenticeship in 2006 and yes you needed GCSE grade C or above, if not you had to complete a "life skills" Course as well, completely out of order making people do unnecessary courses but thats what were all coming to sadly:rolleyes:

True but the ones I've applied for had a relocate option except GA and they said it was fine when I spoke to them, try everything!

Don't quit your job until you've got a contract in hand, some vacancies have 17000+ apply, if you really want to do this your going to have to apply for every trainee position everywhere in the country, then IF your lucky and qualify you can choose to transfer back home

Not everyone needs to be forced to take time off or have therapy / psychiatric support etc, if they don't need or want to talk about something attempting to make them do so can cause a far greater problem,absolutely offer the support but don't force it if it's turned down

FYI I just spoke to the assessment centre and they've not run this course for 12 months! She did add me to a waiting list IF they bring it back but they only do this if there not busy with there priority work, cost £375 last time but would be subject to review if came back :|

I wonder if any companies would consider setting up an exchange program for qualified drivers? Could be good for both sides to learn new ways of doing things maybe?
