Really.....this Guard was “known” to management and it isn’t the first complaint they received about him.... He is so famous that he has been moaned about by well known Radio Presenters who travel on SWR trains on their shows.

They would only deal with applications that aren’t Waterloo. They will need to fill the allocation for other depots first....

Basingstoke.....you are given your free SWR travel pass on the first day. Majority of your days are spent at Basingstoke but it is broken up with.... Front end turns (cab experience) at the depot you have applied for You do visit Signal boxes, depots & yards.... Your away from Basingstoke...

Apologies if a thread for this has been started elsewhere. I am currently waiting a date for a interview for Crossrail for Abbey Wood Depot. So would be handy if anyone could give me an indication of what to expect. Thanks in advance

Trainers don’t just teach you they also watch everything at you do from in the class room to when your out visiting signal boxes, depot yard etc. Your body language, engagement with them other staff & follow trainees, your attitude....(especially whose hired internally).

It happens. The course can be quite intense. The trainers do EVERYTHING they can to get you through....but ultimately it’s you that fails you. It’s two attempts on every test/assessment/final but if it takes you two attempts regularly they will pull you out and ask the questions.

Being a Waterloo Driver I can tell you I have done both driving into work and using night buses. I’d rather use a night bus or 24hour tube/buses. Driving in isn’t worth the hassle & the extra stress. If you drive in for the very early starts by the time it you finish you have to deal with the...

I live in what you would call the “suburbs” but I can manage to get the tube and bus. The very rare occasion I use a night bus I never have had any problems. Weekends are busy but again I can use the 24 hour tube services and 24 hour bus/night bus....

The hours as a driver at Waterloo aren’t designed for anything (only to get stock where it needs to be) The shifts at Waterloo can be and usually are amended so one week finish could be 0054 and the next week 0114. Or start at 0403 one week or next 0354....

Nothing is “guaranteed”. Many people I know have failed at the first hurdle of a driving course & also a couple of people in my course Failed....
