Another bad day on this line due to 'safety checks', but these checks seemed to have lasted for a long time. Worst delay seems to be 12:00 KGX to Inverness at a whopping 222 minutes late!!

Wonder what has happened towards Woking? Usual websites only suggest the loose term 'operating incident', but whatever has occured has really caused some big delays. :(

Seems that NR also seems have discovered major issues with the track on the ECML too judging from the delays this evening.

I might be trivialising things, but how long does it take to fix the CCTV? Surely, they have engineers working as we speak, so just wondering they state that it will take all day to fix.

Seems the Stoke on Trent area has also suffered recently. A fatality quite recently (not sure which day) and reports of another one this morning. Again, sympathies to all involved during these tough times.

Every so often on the East Coast train infomation section it gives out the info A to B "Reservations not applied throughout" From the outside, it looks like one has paid money for a seat, only to find that now their reservation has been revoked and now it is a free for all for seating...

Issues with signalling in this area today and NR tweets that it is likely to last all day with no trains operating between these two stations! Most signal issues are fixed after a while, so I can only think that it maybe miscreants pilfering the cabling again :( Map

I also wonder how the 'full and standing' status is reported. Does the guard press a button and it goes to the TOC's HQ?

Seems this evening that once again a train on the track near Northumberland Park has hit the overhead cables and caused major damage. Having had a similar incident not too long ago it begs the question as to why the OLE is always 'hanging loose' and also perhaps the quality of the repair job...

Thankfully I have not needed to do one of these (yet!). However, just having a quick look around (did not check every TOC), it seems TOC have free rein to set whatever rules they want. Poor FGW customers seem to have a raw deal in that any outside factors and it's tough luck no refund...

I thought the rainstorms were over! Was it mother nature or some kind of burst pipe that caused all these issues today?

It does seem cramped during peak times or other times of crowds, when people from the 1-4 platforms all converge at the same point. There seems plenty of room to install some more gates next to the other platforms. Was it just down to cost that no other gates were installed?

Looks like the Monday rush to work may be slightly chaotic thanks to a depot derailment at Reading. Even at normal times, FGW peak trains are crowded enough. Can't imagine what things will be like today!

On my usual Southern train to work this morning, I encountered, not 1, not 2, but 3 inspectors going through the train! Surely this is overkill cos I have never seen this happen before!!

On my usual jaunter to work to Haywards Heath, I was rather surprised to see a class 150 on the Brighton- Great Malvern service. Assuming there was a fault on the normal unit and it doesn't look like a comfy DMU! (never rode it myself). Wondering where the normal unit for this service is...

Blimey... Seems every major London termini has been affected in some way tonight. KGX and Liverpool Street (somehow!) are scott free thus far.

I know this is a long way away, but the fully completed Thameslink Programe will affect services too if they will go to Worthing or Eastbourne.
