Many,many years ago I saw Jane Freeman (Ivy in Last of the Summer Wine) on a train & I was once sat opposite someone who I think was Kirk Pengilly from INXS.

I did this trip yesterday. Thoroughly enjoyable. I didn`t see any taxis at Tweedbank but there is a half-hourly bus service to Melrose from a stop right outside Tweedbank station.
