Yeah, I was thinking similar. Typically we have a couple of longer journeys (to/from wherever we're going) and then a bunch of day tickets. You'd probably want something where you'd specify a start & return date, it'd cover train travel for each of those days and the equivalent of a plusbus...

From my experience... The under 5s “tickets” from transport for wales (ticket sized card with a picture of a train on) was a big hit with our kids, and made a surprising level of difference for such a simple idea Level boarding would make a huge difference, particularly when travelling alone...

I was/am a big fan of the food on the Wrexham & Shropshire, and on the Gerald of Wales service from the north to Cardiff. Not a massively regular traveller (maybe once a year), but almost always go in first class for the lovely food. Travel Wrexham (so Chester) to Manchester more regularly...
