Can those who give to these organised professional beggars be charged under a railway bylaw? They are as much the problem as those who infest our trains with their criminal activity.
I don't recall our school train ones getting that- they were very old with the original string luggage racks.
Had iirc just two low wattage bulbs for lighting too- which naturally we used to unscrew in Sevenoaks tunnel.

Very interesting. So the first to evacuate were not on the train which initially caused the problems and was after 1hr+. Note also the use of a drone to check if lines were clear.
Bridge at East Croydon closed again. Some seem to be getting on to it leading to ridiculous scenes at the bottom of the stairs. Who signed off this design? Are they still in a job?
I'd be interested in how they can deal with the Jimmy Saville issue. Those ads were one of the most successful in British advertising history and transformed the perception of the railway. Just ignoring their part on that era of BR's history would be like making a programme about the 1940's and...
