    387s Cardiff - London

It'll be interesting to understand how sufficient 387s are to be freed up for the Cardiff services, if this is correct, when I thought the fleet was already stretched running the additional Newbury services to release the IETs. Even if the 379s come to GWR wasn't that to free up 387s for GN /...

Contactless PAYG in the Thames Valley

With Contactless it's the time of the tap in, rather than which service is used which determines the cost, so wonder if that passenger is tapping in on the cusp of peak/off-peak threshold? Doesn't Reading have toilets on every island, as they on the London end of 8/9 and 10/11 and the country end of 1/2/3/7, 12/13 and 14/15. Plus there are two lifts to each platform for redundancy.

    GWR 387 diagrams

387301 + 387155 were on the 19:37 Paddington to Reading this evening. Does this mean that the software on the 387/3s has been updated so they can work with the 387/1s?

    Break of journey on smartcard

Today I had Anytime Day Single ticket loaded onto a smartcard. Whilst changing trains at Reading, I exited the barriers to buy a coffee. Afterwards when exiting at Swindon the barrier and staff member's GWR app showed the ticket as expired and I was told I would have to purchase a new ticket...

GWR Intercity Express Train (IEP) initial diagrams & allocations

1P03 05:50 Oxford to Paddington has gone over to a 5 car IET today. According to the guard SDO wasn't setup for Radley, Culham and Appleford, so those stops were skipped today. Less capacity though as was a 6 car turbo, so lots of standing from Maidenhead.
