Split tickets on a smartcard

As the title says really - would it be possible to use split tickets on an ITSO smartcard?

The two main things I need to know in order to do this are: a) Is it possible to have more than one ticket on a smartcard active at once, and b) Are you required to 'touch in' even if the ticket is already loaded onto the smartcard via an app?

You would need to check in to activate your ticket. Unless you can do that on an app.

Depends on the ticket type but generally yes

I use the National Rail smart card activation app to activate my flexi season ticket. Assume the same app could be used to activate ticket #2 whilst on the train.

Sorry late reply, but I successfully use two split Flexi Seasons on a single Smartcard. I active both using the app before travelling, as my local station doesn't have barriers or activators.
